I'm continually amazed at the number of business people I meet who complain about spending "so much time" selecting a new employee, yet are often willing to spend twice that time researching a new copy machine. -- Barbara "BJ" Gallagher

"I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects ofbenevolence, the money of their constituents..." --- James Madison

"[I]f industry and labour are left to take their own course, they will generally be directed to those objects which are the most productive, and this in a more certain and direct manner than the wisdom of the most enlightened legislature could point out." --- James Madison

"How can limited government and fiscal restraint be equated with lack of compassion for the poor? How can a tax break that puts a little more money in the weekly paychecks of working people be seen as an attack on the needy? Since when do we in America believe that our society is made up of two diametrically opposed classes---one rich, one poor---both in a permanent state of conflict and neither able to get ahead except at the expense of the other? Since when do we in America accept this alien and discredited theory of social and class warfare? Since when do we in America endorse the politics of envy and division?" --- Ronald Reagan

"In the next place, the state governments are, by the very theory of the constitution, essential constituent parts of the general government. They can exist without the latter, but the latter cannot exist without them." -- Joseph Story

Just a reminder, "please" remember to support the ADF http://www.alliancedefensefund.org/main/default.aspx and The Liberty Counsel http://www.lc.org/ . These two are "working and winning" for Judeo-Christian values in our various states' courts and our US Judiciary. There are many "foolish" Obama quotes. Sometimes, I wonder if he really does believe what he says. Ask yourself!

"The Patriot Post"

"Obama has benefited from a week of good images. But substantively, optimism without reality isn't eloquence. It's just Disney." --- New York Times columnist David Brooks

"If we can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people, under the pretence of taking care of them, they must become happy." --- Thomas Jefferson

"I have become a symbol of the possibility of America returning to our best traditions." --- Barack Obama to House members

"Let us... answer our destiny and remake the world once again." ---Barack Obama in Berlin

"Many of the crisises [sic] that we face are the, uh, a direct result of putting off tough decisions for too many years." ---Barack Obama

"Throughout our history, America's confronted constantly evolving danger, from the oppression of an empire, to the lawlessness of the frontier, from the bomb that fell on Pearl Harbor, to the threat of nuclear annihilation. Americans have adapted to the threats posed by an ever-changing world." ---Barack Obama - (**"The bomb that fell on Pearl Harbor"?)

A Veterans of Foreign Wars Post has a message for the many telemarketers that call its answering machine: speak English. Those who call the post when no one's around to answer the telephone will be greeted by a pleasant, female voice on the answering machine saying, "Hi, you've reached the Montrose VFW, Post 5642. Charles "Chuck" Sproull, Springville, IN - sends from one of his old friends!

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up, She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, ' Tell me what you see.

''Carrots, eggs, and coffee,' she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.

Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, 'What does it mean, mother?'

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

'Which are you?' she asked her daughter. 'When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and be come soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.

Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

HOW CAN A WOMAN NOT LOVE THE LORD?

© He is a gentleman,

© He is confident

© He is a provider and protector

© He is rich and powerful© He owns everything ; there is nothing He wouldn't do for me

© He perfects all things concerning me

© He anticipates my wants and needs

© Every day He tells me and shows me how much He loves me

© I don't have to perform in order to earn His love

© He keeps all of his promises

© No one can influence His opinion of me

© He is the ultimate intimate partner

© He can't 'disown' me because I am a part of Him

© He prepares a table before me (Selah)

© He covers me and doesn't expose me

© He wrote His loving words down so that I'll never forget how He feels about me!

NOW THAT'S LOVE!!!

Any man, who wants pointers on how to love a woman, should study GOD!

Wake up every day and thank God for being the best 'man' in your life!

Each and everyone one of us is going through tough times right now, but God is getting ready to bless you in a way that only He can.

Keep the faith!

My instructions were to pick people that I wanted God to bless, and I picked you. Please pass this to at least four people you want to be blessed.. This prayer is powerful, and prayer is one of the best gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot of rewards. Let's continue to pray for one another.

The Prayer:

Father, I ask You to bless my friends, relatives and those I care deeply for, who are reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of Your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment.

Where there is pain, give them Your peace and mercy.

Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through Your grace.

Where there is a need, I ask you to fulfill their needs.Bless their homes, families, finances, their goings and their comings.

In Jesus' precious name, Amen.

(If the Lord lies upon your heart to send this to more than four people, you are truly blessed).

Here is a story of what we are facing in the war in Iraq. This terrorism could expand into our own streets in our own communities, were it not for so many dedicated Americans for protecting our American flag, our US Constitution, and freedoms around the world. Terrorism must be defeated in other nations; prohibiting terrorist from coming into our own USA.

PROFILES OF VALOR: USA SGT. CLAUDE

In September 2007, United States Army Sergeant Charles Claude Jr. was on patrol in Mosul, Iraq, as the turret gunner in an M1117 Guardian Armored Security Vehicle (ASV). Claude's convoy noticed an IED ahead and sent forward troops to neutralize it as quickly as possible. As soon as it was disabled, however, insurgents attacked from all directions with small arms and rocket-propelled grenades. Sgt. Claude fired back, taking out two insurgent vehicles---known as "technicals" ---before being hit himself by a barrage of fire. His vehicle commander was also wounded. But Claude fought on despite his wound, and despite the fact that the sights of his machine gun were destroyed by enemy fire. Then, in close-quarters fighting, an insurgent jumped onto Claude's vehicle. While the driver tried to throw the insurgent off, Claude spun his turret toward the enemy and ended the threat. As the area was secured, Claude continued to ignore his wound while providing defensive cover. Later it was discovered that the two disabled enemy "technicals" were mobile weapons caches, and they were no longer in the hands of terrorists. Sgt. Claude's courageous actions that day saved numerous American lives and turned the tables on an enemy ambush. He was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor.

"The e-mail bag" - Deanna Phillips sends this from the USA Northwest, the Great State of Oregon. Mrs. Phillips is one of my "regulars". It seems that lawyers today now look at any criminal and their activity, try to decide how they may get the criminal to be declared "not guilty", regardless as to whether the criminal is "guilty". Lawyers refer to this as offering the "best defense". To me, finding a criminal "not guilty" is "protecting the criminal" and his/her crime, rather than "protecting our law abiding citizens". I wish the ABA would take a look at themselves and their activity. Maybe, each lawyer should take a look in the mirror and see what they see in protecting our American flag, our US Constitution, and our freedoms. Compare your own decisions based on our forefathers, who authored our Constitution. It seems so many in the legal profession have separated their own visions from our Constitutional founders.

Now that former Sen. John Edwards has admitted that he repeatedly lied, will the Bar Associations disbar him from his legal practice, or will they allow attorneys lying to be an acceptable practice? Democrat lawyers on Capitol Hill seems to have "idiot"ized our government in D.C., especially, on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

And now, thank you Deanna for your following input.

Thoughtful point of view The Democrat Party has become the Lawyers' Party. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are lawyers. Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama are lawyers. John Edwards, the other former Democrat candidate for president, is a lawyer, and so is his wife, Elizabeth. Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did not graduate). Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd Bentsen, went to law school. Look at the Democrat Party in Congress: the Majority Leader in each house is a lawyer.

The Republican Party is different. President Bush and Vice President Cheney were not lawyers, but businessmen. The leaders of the Republican Revolution were not lawyers. Newt Gingrich was a history professor; Tom Delay was an exterminator; and, Dick Armey was an economist. House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer, not a lawyer. The former Senate Majority Leader Bill First is a heart surgeon.

Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer? Gerald Ford, who left office 31 years ago and who barely won the Republican nomination as a sitting president, running against Ronald Reagan in 1976. The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work. The Democrat Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn men who create wealth, like Bush and Cheney, or who heal the sick, like First, or who immerse themselves in history, like Gingrich.

The Lawyers' Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and services that people want, as the enemies of America . And, so we have seen the procession of official enemies, in the eyes of the Lawyers' Party, grow.

Against whom do Hillary and Obama rail? Pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food restaurant chains, large retail businesses, bankers, and anyone producing anything of value in our nation.

This is the natural consequence of viewing everything through the eyes of lawyers. Lawyers solve problems by successfully representing their clients, in this case the American people. Lawyers seek to have new laws passed, they seek to win lawsuits, they press appellate courts to overturn precedent, and lawyers always parse language to favor their side.

Confined to the narrow practice of law, that is fine. But it is an awful way to govern a great nation. When politicians as lawyers begin to view some Americans as clients and other Americans as opposing parties, then the role of the legal system in our life becomes all-consuming. Some Americans become "adverse parties" of our very government. We are not all litigants in some vast social class-action suit. We are citizens of a republic that promises us a great deal of freedom from laws, from courts, and from lawyers.

Today, we are drowning in laws; we are contorted by judicial decisions; we are driven to distraction by omnipresent lawyers in all parts of our once private lives. America has a place for laws and lawyers, but that place is modest and reasonable, not vast and unchecked. When the most important decision for our next president is whom he will appoint to the Supreme Court, the role of lawyers and the law in America is too big. When lawyers use criminal prosecution as a continuation of politics by other means, as happened in the lynching of Scooter Libby and Tom Delay, then the power of lawyers in America is too great. When House Democrats sue America in order to hamstring our efforts to learn what our enemies are planning to do to us, then the role of litigation in America has become crushing.

We cannot expect the Lawyers' Party to provide real change, real reform, or real hope in America . Most Americans know that a republic in which every major government action must be blessed by nine unelected judges is not what Washington intended in 1789. Most Americans grasp that we cannot fight a war when ACLU lawsuits snap at the heels of our defenders. Most Americans intuit that more lawyers and judges will not restore declining moral values or spark the spirit of enterprise in our economy.

Perhaps Americans will understand that change cannot be brought to our nation by those lawyers who already largely dictate American society and business. Perhaps Americans will see that hope does not come from the mouths of lawyers but from personal dreams nourished by hard work. Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more lawyers with more power will only make our problems worse.

"The moral precepts delivered in the sacred oracles form a part of the law of nature, are of the same origin and of the same obligation, operating universally and perpetually." -- James Wilson

From: My friend and Biblical Scholar Charles "Chuck" Sproull

"Life 101" has taught me:

(1) Biologically (and logically) everyone who has ever lived in this world is either a dad or a mom, a son or a daughter, a male or a female; there are no exceptions.

(2) The three major milestones on the path of life are marriage (between a man and a woman), fertilization, birth .... marriage, fertilization, birth ... marriage, fertilization, birth .... There are no exceptions.

People who life on this path of life most effectively are honest, unselfish, responsible, self-disciplined and faithful. Selfish and dishonest (SAD), irresponsible and un-disciplined people aren't able to live on the path of life, so they look for excuses and exit ramps before each of the milestones. The HRC with pornography and homosexuality, along with PP with sex-ed and abortionists, has provided flaggers to distract people and desensitize their moral compasses, and lead them away from the path of life, and they descend into the dark valley of immorality.

But Jesus came to make things better. As in Isa 53:1, when people "believe the report, the arm of the Lord" can lift them back onto the path of life, and even through the "strait gate" of new birth (John 3:5, Acts 2:38) and onto the "narrow way," the Superhighway of more abundant (healthier, happier, eternal) life. - Chuck Sproull, Springville IN

The best way to escape from a problem is to solve it! -- Alan Saporta

It seems many of our elected legislators in our local, state, and federal government assemblies across America are choosing to pass legislation making it legal for men to marry men, and women to marry me. According to the Bible, this is against God's law as defined in Leviticus 18:22 and Leviticus 20:13. What is so disappointing to me is so many in public life, the TV and print media, etc. just continue to say these are private activities or a private matter, whenever these public officials, TV and print media operators should be leading the "Christian flock" to a cleaner life.

"It is not necessary to enumerate the many advantages, that arise from this custom of early marriages. They comprehend all the society can receive from this source; from the preservation, and increase of the human race. Every thing useful and beneficial to man, seems to be connected with obedience to the laws of his nature, the inclinations, the duties, and the happiness of individuals, resolve themselves into customs and habits, favorable, in the highest degree, to society. In no case is this more apparent, than in the customs of nations respecting marriage." -- Samuel Williams

The plan sponsored by Sen. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, is estimated to cost the U.S. some $845 billion over the coming few years in an effort to raise the standard of living around the globe.

Today's Topic: Managing Performance in the Virtual Workplace

The virtual work environment provides unique performance management challenges. Addressing these proactively will have a positive impact on productivity, morale, and results. At the same time, the virtual workplace offers some distinct advantages to the performance management and evaluation process.

Gone are the days of “face time” and the perceived sense that you know they’re working because you can see them sitting at their desk or workstation. In reality, the way you know that someone is working – and doing the right things the right way – is to have clear outcomes. In other words, you don’t really know that work is getting done unless you know what’s expected, how it’s to be done, and how it will be measured. This is where the virtual workplace has a positive impact on your need to manage performance effectively by requiring that clear expectations, behaviors, and measures be defined.

When team members work remotely, you can’t totally control how they do their jobs, but you still need to manage their overall performance and results. It can be difficult – for leaders and employees – to discuss performance issues from a distance. Having a clear process with specific steps provides a guide and keeps everyone on track.

Just a few weeks ago, I reported to you this daily e-mail was being passed by a Democrat Party majority in Colorado and was expected to be signed by Gov. Bill Ritter:

Now for the very ugly in partisan politics: http://www.focusonthefamily.com/

.....Gov. Bill Ritter of Colorado signed into law an outrageous bill that, in the name of providing “equality” for homosexuals and transgenders, actually allows men to use women’s restrooms—right alongside women and little girls. The new law does much more—I’ll get to that in a moment—but this frightening aspect alone makes one ask: If the privacy of innocent children isn’t enough to derail the homosexual activists’ agenda, what is?....

Now, a response from one of my Biblical Scholars:

When people trust a recipe and make delicious nutritious food, they know from experience that the author's words are true. Likewise, when people trust the Bible and receive God's promised blessings, they know from experience that the Bible contains our Creator's words of life and truth. A little school for today, which may enhance (y)our life.

As a coach yourself, are you a super star, a middle star, or a falling star? True dedicated leaders layout a plan to develop super stars!

Today's Topic: Coaching the Falling StarsHere’s something to consider:

Even in the very best organizations, almost every manager will have to deal with at least one problem employee – uncooperative, emotionally unstable, chronically late, “just getting by” performance, etc. – each year. It may not make it easier, but you are not alone when it comes to the uncomfortable task of addressing performance problems.

Falling stars represent only a small percent of any team. Yet some managers spend a great deal of their time with people in this group. That means that the super stars and middle stars are not receiving the valuable coaching and other forms of attention from you that they need. And spending so much time dealing with performance problems doesn’t do a whole lot for the coach’s job satisfaction either.

Sometimes when a team member consistently underperforms, the manager assumes that he or she has failed as a coach. That’s not necessarily true. A good coach helps employees get to where they need to be. But, ultimately, it’s each employee’s responsibility to decide whether to be a super star, a middle star, or a falling star. Truth is, you can influence that decision but you can’t control it.

If you have established a positive work climate, you have a decision to make with each problem. You can close your eyes, live with the situation, and accept the negative impact of your falling stars’ lower performance. Or, you can conduct a performance improvement session in which the employee will either commit to your standards – or choose to ignore the problem and face the logical consequences.

With all the wisdom of our forefathers, I often wonder what happened, and how it happened, for so many of our political leaders to separate themselves from our Judeo-Christian values. How could the people in Michigan elect and continue to reelect a member of US Congress who refuses to bow his head in Prayer? Why? Why? Why?

“Let the American youth never forget, that they possess a noble inheritance, bought by the toils, and sufferings, and blood of their ancestors.” — Joseph Story

"The blessed Religion revealed in the word of God will remain an eternal and awful monument to prove that the best Institution may be abused by human depravity; and that they may even, in some instances be made subservient to the vilest purposes. Should, hereafter, those incited by the lust of power and prompted by the Supineness or venality of their Constituents, overleap the known barriers of this Constitution and violate the unalienable rights of humanity: it will only serve to shew, that no compact among men (however provident in its construction and sacred in its ratification) can be pronounced everlasting an inviolable, and if I may so express myself, that no Wall of words, that no mound of parchm[en]t can be so formed as to stand against the sweeping torrent of boundless ambition on the side, aided by the sapping current of corrupted morals on the other." -- George Washington

Success in life does require legal, moral, and ethical responsibilities! It also makes a "true good heart" work so much easier on (y)our conscience. All these issues are described and taught in Judeo-Christian teachings. (Y)our schools of teaching/learning are found in (y)our community House of Worship.

Today's Topic: Set the Example…And the ToneLEADING BY EXAMPLE.

It’s both a management responsibility and a moral obligation. And, it’s the most powerful tool in your leadership toolbox.

You have a strong influence on the thoughts and behaviors of your employees – probably much stronger than you think. Regardless of what appears on job descriptions or in employee handbooks, your behavior is the real performance standard that team members will follow. They’ll rightfully assume that it’s okay and appropriate to do whatever you do. Why wouldn’t they? So it’s critical that you set the proper example and desired tone…that you model the performance and behavior you expect from others. Do otherwise, and you’re a hypocrite. Ouch!

There’s no rocket science here – it’s pretty simple stuff. Just pretend that everyone on your team is from Missouri (“The SHOW ME State”). From conduct to commitment…attendance to attitude…respect to responsibility…work ethic to ethics at work – SHOW your people what you want them to do. Let employees know that, in order to be successful, all they have to do is play a game. The name of that game is… “FOLLOW THE LEADER!”

After the Fourth of July week, most can be thankful that on this Monday, you/we may report to work. With escalating gasoline prices, some businesses are being pressed to cut back on production as consumers are being forced to cut back on budgets; all because of escalation gasoline prices. We must tell everyone in America to demand the Democrats on Capitol Hill for authorizing the drilling of new oil is required to protect our family budgets, including our homes, our jobs, and new expanding jobs; all for our US economy. "Drill Now" or we will remedy this authorization and vote you out on November 4, 2009!

Growing up throughout my childhood, I heard "so many" say that to do a handshake with my dad was just as reliable as any written contract. In business, my goal was to pass that along to others. That was a serious mistake. I have for many years said it is not surprising what a few people will do, just for a few dollars or many dollars. What is so disappointing is the fact that you may be burned by what you thought was your very best friend(s). You hear in your own communities. You read it in the newspapers. You see on the TV news. That is so sad in today's society! The question is what ever happened to honestly; to rule over greed? Just be aware and beware! The solution; adjust your lifestyle, get over it, and "get right with God". Now, that is a "real solution" for living.

For years I have said to really grow a business is to surround yourself with people who are smarter than you, yourself are. Then listen and act as necessary! Help others grow, and as they grow, so do you!

Dear Leader,

Why “Listen Up” about direction? Ever boarded a plane without knowing the destination? Ever driven a car blindfolded? Absurd, you say! Yet, these questions summarize the frustrations of many employees today. Why do we need specific direction? Read on!

Want to know one reason why people leave our company? They’re confused about the direction we’re going (or not going)! It may be hard to see from your position, but there’s not a lot of clarity – not a lot of direction – in what we’re supposed to be doing. Too often, the mission statement hanging on the wall says one thing, you can tell us another, and our compensation rewards us for something else.

On top of that, many of our “current” job descriptions were written years ago – in another time, for another purpose. And then when performance reviews come around, you sometimes tell us we should have been doing something completely different. No wonder we’re confused! Believe it or not, many on our team waste as much as five and a half hours a week because of unclear communication about where we’re headed and what we’re supposed to do. That’s seven weeks per year – per person!

If you want to achieve better results and improve our morale, clearly communicate where we are going and why.

Sincerely,

Your employees

So many times, I have found myself speaking before thinking. Many years ago, I kidded my late Father-In-Law, Rev. Raymond Wilkinson, telling him he just didn't talk much, except while in the Pulpit. Rev. Wilkinson told me "It is best to keep your mouth shut, and let people think you are dumb, than to open your mouth, and leave no doubt". In the Pulpit and throughout life, Raymond Wilkinson preached a special love of God; a love everyone is offered in life. Our life's choice is up to us. I now often wish that I had openly listened more! Rev. Raymond Wilkinson was a great "Godly" minister.

Let The Scanners Count The Votes

Some years ago, and after serving several years on the local County Board of Elections, one fact balanced the challenge. When using paper ballots and counting the ballot with a “scanner”, it is imperative to let the scanner only, work as designed to do, and count the votes.

When individuals try to count paper ballots which are designed to be counted for a scanner, personal choice begin to enter into the decision making conclusion(s), trying to justify their choice to get into the brain of the voter(s).

For example, when a proposed voter makes an X over an area which is to be covered if counted, the person(s) counting the vote for or against the candidate making the decision is making a determination as to whether the proposed voter wanted to vote for an individual, or did the voter want to vote against the candidate. Allow the scanners to do the job they are designed to do. Scanners are not political partisan. The scanner machines don’t care whether the vote is for a Democrat, a Republican, or an Independent. Persons making the determination for or against a candidate usually care, as to who gets the vote.
Each and every voter has a right to cast their ballot correctly, and/or ask for the assistance of their choice, and to make sure their voting ballot is properly marked and counted. Individuals should not be trying to make a determination of any ballots votes, when the ballot is improperly marked.

UAW Must Slash Wages & Benefits For Automotive Industry

GM, Ford, and Chrysler are important to a strong America, as are all other manufacturing. Over the last approximately forty years, organized labor, i.e. the AFL-CIO, the United Auto Workers, and other Unions have demanded unwarranted hourly pay and benefits. Many in manufacturing businesses throughout America have become less competitive, forced into bankruptcy, and/or required to relocate to other countries, to compete in a global market. Average compensation of $141,000 plus, is excessive in a competitive market.

Democrat leaders on Capitol Hill dispatched the Big 3 automakers’ CEOs. Members examined the CEOs on their corporate losses. These CEOs were grilled on their requests and/or demands for a bailout. Where was UAW President Ron Gettelfinger? Where was AFL-CIO President John Sweeney? Why were other Union leaders not subpoenaed? Why are these Union leaders not being probed? Are Unions partly responsible for our declining manufacturing? Should our legislators on Capitol Hill be demanding organized labor to slash wages and benefits; to protect our US economy? Will Capitol Hill legislators demand Union leaders to reduce employees’ pay and benefits? Are Democrats on Capitol Hill protecting Unions because so many Union dues are campaign dollars, who specifically, support the majority Democrat Party and their candidates?
Legislators are now heading in an abusive direction, adding support to Unions, which will further damage our economy. Very soon, you will see the Democrat majority pass legislation which will allow labor leaders to ‘bully’ other businesses’ fellow employees into signing a Union card which will force business owners to accept labor Unions ‘without’ secret ballot elections. America’s manufacturing will die further, or Presidential Executive Orders, and/or other legislation, will force tariffs upon imports that will increase our goods at the markets; increasing further inflation. UAW leaders must decrease employees’ pay and benefits to protect Americas’ automobile manufacturing.

Bailing Out This Capitol Hill & UAW Plan Is Socialistic Insanity.

Dr. Mark J. Perry, Professor of Economics and Finance in the School of Management at the Flint campus of the University of Michigan http://mjperry.blogspot.com/2007/07/uaw-pricing-themselves-out-of-market.html, says United Auto Worker employees earn, hourly and annually, including benefits: Ford: $70.51 ($141,020 per year), GM: $73.26 ($146,520 per year), Chrysler: $75.86 ($151,720 per year), Toyota, Honda, Nissan (in U.S.): $48.00 ($96,000 per year).

Your may note from this report that UAW employees earn more than University Professors who are averaging salaries’ nationally at $92,973 ($73,207 + 27% benefits).

Dr. Mark J. Perry holds two graduate degrees in economics (M.A. and Ph.D.) from George Mason University in Washington, D.C. In addition, he holds an MBA degree in finance from the Curtis L. Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. Since 1997, Professor Perry has been a member of the Board of Scholars for the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, a nonpartisan research and public policy institute in Michigan.

Many elected legislators on Capitol Hill, and UAW President Ron Gettelfinger, are asking US taxpayers to bail out our three failing US auto manufacturing business, without recourse.

All active UAW member/emoloyees should rollover their entire retirement programs to provide necessary funding for the survival of GM, Ford, and Chrysler. Capitol Hill legislators who supports this giveaway, should rollover their own retirement programs. Their actions will assure America as to the astuteness of our leaders, and prove to the taxpayers the wisdom, or the socialistic insanity, in protecting these exorbitant employees salaries and their benefits.

In lieu, all legislators on Capitol Hill should vote “NO”. Capitol Hill legislators and UAW management should demand a major decrease in hourly wages and benefits, rather than having the taxpayers bail out a private corporation whose employee wages and benefits compensation is in excess of $100,000 annually.

Is It Stimulas Or Is It Socialism?

Some short years ago, almost all showed more responsibility in life. Individuals purchased homeowners and/or home renters insurance to protect against unexpected losses. Private business owners, local governments, and state governments purchased insurance to protect against their unanticipated losses. What has happened?

Today, it seems as if in event of any personal, business, local government, and/or state government unforeseen losses, everyone calls upon the Federal Government to bail them out.

It first became so overtly evident with the bailout using taxpayers’ dollars of private industry, AIG. After this government (taxpayers money) bailout, the AIG business officers took a corporate vacation junket. Then these same corporate officers needed more of (y)our taxpayer’s monies, so they again called on Capitol Hill legislators and the US Treasury. Again, the government provided AIG for many additional ten of millions of dollars. Now again, the AIG corporate officers took another vacation junket. Now, and in addition to these two government bailouts, you need to know that in the first process, AIG asked New York Governor David Paterson to allow AIG insurance reserves to use as their own assets. What I am saying is insurance reserves include (y)our cash values and/or extended life insurance coverages in your life insurance policies. What you thought in your cash value life insurance policy was your own assets, you may be wrong. Governor Patterson allowed AIG to assume insurance reserves as AIG assets. Do these assets now belong to AIG? That is still not the end. What started up with the US Treasury with an $85 million loan has now increased to $150 million of taxpayers’ debt, through the US Treasury, with the purchase of additional preferred stock. Where are the investigations on Capitol Hill?

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and the US Treasury called for a $750 million bailout. Capitol Hill legislators voted No on the first round. After negotiations, the Capitol Hill approved the bailout. No legislation was included to provide for any US Senate and/or US Congressional hearings, investigation, and/or prosecutions of ethical and/or illegal activities. A short time ago, many on Capitol Hill were so aggressive in investigating and prosecuting the Enron Corporation scandal officials. Why not now? Is it because so many on Capitol Hill themselves, are tied up in the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac scandal of scamming taxpayers’ fund? Follow the money. See where the Fannie and Freddie corporate and executive officers monies ended; right on Capitol Hill. Now many others banks have opened their hands for some of these same Federal Stimulus funds of taxpayers’ money.

Where does it end? Now, GM, Ford, and Chrysler are calling on the US Government to bail them out. Is there going to be anyone to ask AFL-CIO President John Sweeney and his Labor Union members to take a look and see if the demands by Labor Unions, because of their demanding increases in salaries, hourly pay wages, and benefits have caused this financial failure? Auto manufacturing personnel are now among the highest paid employees in US industry. Are AFL-CIO members willing to take a pay cut to save this American industry? Is President John Sweeney willing to compromise with the American taxpayers? If Organized Labor is not willing to compromise in decreased wages and benefits, American taxpayers should tell their elected officials to vote No on saving GM, Ford, and Chrysler. These manufacturing jobs should be saved, but not at all taxpayers’ expense.
What is next? When will it end? Is this just more examples of our growing Socialism in America? A stable growing economy in a free society takes individual, corporate, and government responsibility. When the younger folks, and especially when the college students graduate and go out to make a living for themselves, each will sadly learn as Thomas Jefferson said, “A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take everything you have”.
