Are US Senators going to support or reject President Obama’s nominee, Timothy Geithner, for US Secretary of Treasurer? I would bet you will see a majority Democrat Senators and at least one of the two Independents supporting Geithner, saying Geithner’s failure to pay his taxes was just a mistake. This crime of failing to pay his taxes for some six years was a determinate decision, not just a mistake. I would bet you will see most Republican Senators reject Geithner for this same reason and others. Everyone who fails to pay his or her income taxes could say it was a mistake; most criminals who admit their other crimes usually say it was a mistake. If a majority of our US Senators are going to confirm Timothy Geithner, why should any taxpayer be forced to pay his or her income taxes as legislated by all on Capitol Hill, and signed by our President? I believe American taxpayers will not pleasantly accept the confirmation of Timothy Geithner. President Obama made a poor choice in nominating a six year (?) tax cheat, who paid up on his past taxes, only just before being nominated. It is for these reasons why Timothy Geithner should be rejected as our Secretary of the Treasurer. If a majority of our US Senators support Timothy Geithner, why should any other taxpayer be forced to pay their taxes on time? Who of our US Senators will place Geithner in charge of the IRS, which he cheated on himself? Otherwise, all Americans will see President Obama and other elected majority Democrats on Capitol Hill accepting a tax cheat as another expanded qualification to serve for public office in this administration. President Obama and the Democrat Party must be more responsible to Americas’ taxpayers to protect our system!
