WISDOM

If you support our national security issues, you may love and appreciate the United States of America, our Constitution with its’ freedoms, and our American flag.

If you support and practice our fiscal issues, you may value worldly possessions.

If you support and value our social issues, you may love Judeo-Christian values.

If you support and practice all these values, that is all good; an insignia of “Wisdom” . - Oscar Y. Harward

GOP leadership leads as Americans continue to say, “Stop the spending”

By Oscar Y. Harward

In November, voters sent several critical messages to Washington, D.C., President Obama, and Capitol Hill. One message was to “Stop the spending”. While Americans have been screaming to “Stop the spending”, President Obama and Capitol Hill Democrats ignored the call. For their silence, the voters replaced the U.S. House from a 79 Democrat Party majority to a 49 Republican Party majority http://clerk.house.gov/art_history/house_history/partyDiv.html.

On January 5, the 112th. Congress opened under Republican Party leadership. One of the GOP’s first issue was a “Motion to Suspend the Rules and Agree” to stop the spending and vote on H. Res. 22. This resolution was for the House to cut its own Congressional budget by 5%. That cut alone will produce $35 million in savings. The vote was 410-Yes to 13-No, with 11 members failing to vote http://clerk.house.gov/cgi-bin/vote.asp?year=2011&rollnumber=8.

The 13 members, all Democrats, in the House who voted “No” to “Stop the spending” are: Ackerman (NY-5), Clarke (NY-11), Conyers (MI-14), Ellison (MN-5), Filner (CA-51), Honda (CA-15), Jackson (IL-2), Lee (CA-9), Moran (VA-8), Payne (NJ-10), Schakowsky (IL-9), Towns (NY-10) and Woolsey (CA-6).

Many liberal members on Capitol Hill may continue the fight to spend (y)our taxpayers’ funds, regardless of the fact that America’s economy is in financial distress; maybe, just before a national monetary failure. These irresponsible members are repulsive, politically speaking, and if not restrained would continue to spend our nation into total bankruptcy. There is much work ahead to re-establish our Constitutional freedoms, refurbish our free economy, and defending precious social issues.
