As we approach Veterans Day on Wednesday! God Bless our troops, and all Veterans of our US Military.

This is very meaningful and a wonderful gesture.

Prayer wheel for our soldiers...please don't break it

Prayer wheel for our soldiers...please don't break it

Prayer Wheel: As you view this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our ground troops in the Middle East-and elsewhere. There is nothing attached.... This can be very powerful.... Just copy and past this to all the people in your address book. Do not stop the wheel, please.... Of all the gifts you could give a US Soldier, Prayer is the very best one.

The Heart of a Teacher

by Paula Fox

The child arrives like a mystery box... with puzzle pieces inside some of the pieces are broken or missing... and others just seem to hide

But the HEART of a teacher can sort them out... and help the child to see
the potential for greatness he has within... a picture of what he can be

Her goal isn't just to teach knowledge... by filling the box with more parts
it's putting the pieces together... and creating a work of art

The process is painfully slow at times... some need more help than others
each child is a work in progress... with assorted shapes and colors

First she creates a classroom... where the child can feel safe in school
where he never feels threatened or afraid to try... and kindness is always the rule

She knows that a child can achieve much more when he feels secure inside
when he's valued and loved... and believes in himself ...and he has a sense of pride

She models and teaches good character... and respect for one another
how to focus on strengths...not weaknesses and how to encourage each other

She gives the child the freedom he needs... to make choices on his own
so he learns to become more responsible... and is able to stand alone

He's taught to be strong and think for himself... as his soul and spirit heal
and the puzzle that's taking shape inside... has a much more positive feel

The child discovers the joy that comes... from learning something new...
and his vision grows as he begins to see all the things that he can do

A picture is formed as more pieces fit... an image of the child within
with greater strength and confidence... and a belief that he can win!

All because a hero was there... in the HEART of a teacher who cared
enabling the child to become much more... than he ever imagined...or dared

A teacher with a HEART for her children... knows what teaching is all about
she may not have all the answers... but on this...she has no doubt

When asked which subjects she loved to teach, she answered this way and smiled...
"It's not the subjects that matter... It's all about teaching the CHILD."

"Daily Devotions" (KJV and/or NLT)

"The Lord is our judge, our lawgiver, and our king. He will care for us and save us." (Isaiah 33:22)

Have you felt deeply uncertain lately? We've lived through some uncertain times, from the terror attacks of September 2001 to the financial collapse of September 2008. Where do you find strength during times of personal crisis?

Nearly 150 years ago, the nation faced one of those moments of cold shock. A war had just finished, a nation was in tatters, and the previous evening, the president had been assassinated. As Abraham Lincoln's body was being prepared for burial, a crowd of fifty thousand people gathered in front of the Exchange Building in New York City. The crowd was nearly out of control, only a shout or two from spilling into violence.

Before that could happen, a striking-looking military officer stepped out on the building's balcony. In a commanding voice, he addressed the crowd. "Fellow citizens," he began. "Clouds and darkness are round about Him." Someone recognized the words from Psalm 97. "Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne . . . The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth." He paused a moment, then cried out, "God reigns! And the government at Washington still lives!"

The crowd fell silent as those words sunk in. The speaker was General James A. Garfield. Some sixteen years later as President, he too felt the sting of an assassin's bullet. However, although the messenger died, his message, "God Reigns!" will live on for eternity.

Our God reigns. He will have the final word.

Pelosi: "Are you serious?"Government & Politics

A Serious Question

We have known for many years that Democrats view the Constitution as an obstacle to their goals, not as something to be revered or upheld -- despite their repeated oaths to do just that. And as Mark Alexander warned last week, our Constitution is on life support.

More evidence of the trauma inflicted by our elected "representatives" surfaced this week when CNSNews.com asked the only truly relevant question in the health care debate: Where in the Constitution is the authority to mandate that Americans buy health insurance?

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) was befuddled and deflected:

CNSNews.com: Where, in your opinion, does the Constitution give specific authority for Congress to give an individual mandate for health insurance?

Leahy: We have plenty of authority. Are you saying there is no authority?

CNSNews.com: I'm asking-

Leahy: Why would you say there is no authority? I mean, there's no question there's authority, nobody questions that.

While Leahy's answer is both defensive and outrageously arrogant, in a sense, he's right: Not enough voters question the constitutional authority for anything Congress does. Even Republicans too often simply declare, "Me too, only a little less," instead of abiding by the Constitution.

The interviewer persisted, however, and again asked the question. Leahy dodged, saying, "Where do we have the authority to set speed limits on an interstate highway? The federal government does that on federal highways." He then walked away.

So to get this straight, Leahy defended Congress' unconstitutional attempt to take over one sixth of the U.S. economy by citing another unconstitutional law that was justly repealed 14 years ago.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) answered the question by saying, "Well, in promoting the general welfare the Constitution obviously gives broad authority to Congress to effect [a mandate that individuals must buy health insurance]. The end that we're trying to effect is to make health care affordable, so I think clearly this is within our constitutional responsibility."

On the contrary, in 1994, the Congressional Budget Office reported that a mandate forcing Americans to buy insurance would be an "unprecedented form of federal action. The government has never required people to buy any good or service as a condition of lawful residence in the United States."

According to Hoyer and his accomplices, however, the General Welfare Clause in the Constitution empowers Congress not only to "promote the general Welfare," but to provide it, demand it and enforce it.

But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was the worst offender. "Madam Speaker," CNSNews.com asked, "where specifically does the Constitution grant Congress the authority to enact an individual health insurance mandate?" Her brief reply spoke volumes about the Left's contempt for the Constitution and the Rule of Law: "Are you serious? Are you serious?" She then ignored the question and moved on to the next one. Her spokesman later added, "You can put this on the record: That is not a serious question. That is not a serious question."

Even in light of the current recession, we live in a day of unprecedented prosperity and, as a result, we have become complacent. Unfortunately, the likes of Leahy, Hoyer and Pelosi, who mock the Constitution instead of keeping their oaths, have almost completely robbed us of the "Blessings of Liberty" which our Founding Fathers pledged "our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor" to defend.

Though questions concerning constitutional authority are finally being asked inside the Beltway, they have been asked with ever-louder voices across the nation since Ronald Reagan reinvigorated that debate.. Of course, since the last election, the national debate chorus has become much more unified.

For example, in The Patriot's home state of Tennessee (which Al Gore claims as "home" but which gave its electoral votes to Bush, twice, and then to McCain), there is a 10th Amendment battle underway, and not a minute too soon.

State Republicans are organizing a state sovereignty campaign in opposition to the federal government's abuse of states' rights. This week, a legislative committee approved a motion to invite representatives from the legislatures of the other 49 states to join a "working group .... to enumerate the abuses of authority by the federal government and to seek repeal of its assumption of powers."

Can you say, "Constitutional Convention"?

Predictably, Obama's state cadre of Democrat sycophants are huffing and puffing. State Democrat Chairman Chip Forrester says, "It's unfortunate that Republican members of the state Legislature have jumped on this crazy train. This is nothing short of lunacy. The Tea Party organizers and their ultra-right wing cronies began this ridiculous issue to disrupt civil debate about how to move this state and nation forward. I hope they are not suggesting we fight another Civil War."

No, we should give the Convention a chance before taking up arms. And if it comes to the latter, I suggest Mr. Forrester say goodbye to the sun and slither down a very deep hole.

The 'New' Missile Defense in Poland

On Sept. 17, President Obama stabbed our NATO allies Poland and the Czech Republic in the back when he unilaterally cancelled plans for basing in those countries a defense shield against long range missiles. Ironically, Sept. 17 was the 70th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Poland that helped kick off Europe's version of World War II, a little fact that our Eurocentric Dear Leader had somehow missed (or not). By previously accepting President George W. Bush's request to host the missile defense system, both Poland and the Czech Republic took enormous risks, as Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin considers Eastern Europe to still be under Russia's boot and who, in his quieter moments, probably dreams of another Sept. 17 moment.

In an apparent attempt to make up for that treachery, this week Obama sent Vice President Joe Biden to Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania with a "new" proposal for hosting a missile defense system against shorter range missiles. According to Biden, the new plan "will cover more of Europe, including Poland, and will do it more efficiently than the previous system." Apparently, this "new" system is better solely because Obama proposed it and not Bush.

Initial reaction from the Poles is understandably muted.. Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski said, "We expect details of the offer and will react in light of these, but please do not expect any dramatic or momentous events." And Polish President Lech Kaczynski said, "Today we know one thing -- Poland's role in the new plan will not be as big as the role it was to have in the Bush plan." We can't blame the Poles for feeling betrayed, because they were. And is Babblin' Joe Biden really the best man to send when fences need mending?

In other snub-our-allies news, BO couldn't squeeze in a visit to Berlin on Nov. 9 for the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. He's sending Hillary instead, as he's too busy these days attending fundraisers for Democrat congressional candidates.

Detainee Détente

The Senate voted 79-19 Tuesday to remove an obstacle to Barack Obama's plan to close the jihadi prison at Guantanamo Bay. The measure would allow the administration to bring foreign terrorism suspects to the U.S., though only if they are to be prosecuted here. The measure was attached to a $43 billion bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security. It passed the House last week and now heads to the White House for Obama's signature. About 220 prisoners remain at the facility.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case of 17 Chinese Muslims being held at Guantanamo. The men, Uighurs from western China, were captured in Afghanistan. According to The Hill, "A federal judge ordered the men released last October, but the appeals court reversed that ruling in February, determining that judges do not have the authority to override immigration laws and force the executive branch to release the detainees into the country." Some of the men have already been sent to Bermuda, while the Pacific island nation of Palau has agreed to accept most of the rest, leaving just one seeking a place to go. They fear persecution if returned to China -- a legitimate concern.

Speaking of counterterrorism, a report by UN Special Rapporteur Martin Scheinin complains that security measures taken against terrorists "risk unduly penalizing transgender persons whose personal appearance and data are subject to change." Scheinin adds, "This jeopardizes the right of persons of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities to recognition before the law." Next time a terrorist attack kills Americans, the UN can tell their families it happened because we couldn't offend a guy running around dressed in drag.

This Week's 'Alpha Jackass' Award

"We get the joke. We know that the free market is nonsense. We know that the whole point is to game the system, to beat the market or at least find someone who will pay you a lot of money because they're convinced that there is a free lunch. We know this is largely about power, that it's an adults-only, no-limit game. We kind of agree with Mao [Tse-tung] that political 'power comes largely from the barrel of a gun.'" -- Comrade Ron Bloom, the White House manufacturing czar, in February 2008 when he was president of the United Steelworkers Union

While we in our humble shop have yet to determine how paying "a lot of money" equates to a "free lunch," Bloom is the second Obama czar (that we know of) to praise China's Communist dictator, who was responsible for more than 70 million deaths.

Income Redistribution: More Mortgage Money

"The Obama administration today announced a new effort to help battered state and local housing agencies provide mortgage help to hundreds of thousands of homeowners," ABC News reports. "The administration said the new plan will help keep mortgage rates low, and increase resources for low and middle income borrowers to buy or rent homes." ABC then gives the details: "The administration's new two-pronged initiative, operating under a law passed by Congress last year, will consist of a bond purchase program to support new lending by these agencies, and a temporary credit and liquidity program to boost agency access to credit sources for their existing bonds. The eventual size of the program will be set according to agency demand, but it does have a ceiling." Federal spending with a ceiling? Couldn't happen.

That's not the real knee-slapper, though. Michael Barr, Treasury Department Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions, provided the punch line, saying, "There will be strong taxpayer protections," and the "expected cost to the federal government is zero." We're glad to know they can have their cake and eat it too.

In other mortgage news, the IRS is investigating more than 100,000 dubious claims of an $8,000 tax credit intended for first-time homebuyers. The credit was part of the so-called "stimulus" passed in February. We're shocked -- shocked -- to hear that people might be gaming the system.

Your liberty is at stake

This is a critical week to protect our health care and our liberty!

Time is running out. After months of debate, the U.S. House will likely vote this Saturday on the leading plan for a government takeover of health care.

You and FRC have been tireless in our leadership role, shaping the health care debate. With your help, we've brought taxpayer funded abortion and rationing to the center of attention. We've also highlighted the threats to liberty and the unprecedented financial cost. Exposing the truth with our allies has thwarted the liberals' plans to force socialized medicine through by August.

Today, we have a few more cards up our sleeves, and we need your help to play them! Tuesday night, during FRC Action's third live web cast on health care, we revealed another hard-hitting yet humorous TV ad produced by FRC. View the ad here.

Help us place this ad in strategic markets with a generous, tax-deductible donation to FRC today!

Your donation also will enable us to remain strong in this intense battle. We'll continue to educate senators, representatives and other key leaders . . . craft amendments . . . inform the grassroots . . . lead a coalition of allies . . . saturate the media . . . and more!

We know we've sent you many emails and requests on this issue, but we hope you understand the urgency of the health care debate and how much is at stake.

Please stand with us at this critical moment - through your prayers, and if you're able, a financial gift. Some can give $15, some $50, some $500, some $5,000; any amount will help! Raising $50,000 today would be a tremendous help!

Thank you for considering this request and for your prayers and partnership!

Christian Clubs Gain Equal Access to Public Schools / Pelosi Healthcare Vote on Saturday

Liberty Counsel has recently cleared the way for numerous after-school Good News Clubs to meet in public schools. The Clubs, sponsored by Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF), are designed to teach good character and Christian values to children ages 5-12. Many children accept Christ after attending Good News Club meetings.

The Supreme Court has ruled that CEF can have the same access to schools as secular after-school programs. Liberty Counsel doesn't hesitate to litigate when schools discriminate against CEF. Our News Release lists just a few of our numerous recent victories.

Call us at 800-671-1776 for more information about sponsoring a Good News Club in your public school district. CEF has an "Adopt A School" program for churches that want to help bring Christ to the public school.

Pelosi Healthcare Vote on Saturday

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is expected to bring her favorite healthcare bill up for discussion and vote early Saturday morning. She is hoping for speedy passage before too many Americans can be warned about the contents of her massive 1,990-page government healthcare takeover.

We have listed some of the problems with this bill in our healthcare chart. You can click HERE to download the PDF version of the chart, or go to our healthcare information page for more information. You can also learn more details about the Pelosi bill at http://gop.com/12truths.

One alarming fact is that a monthly abortion premium will be charged to all enrollees in the government-run plan. Read HR 3962, line 16, page 96, section 213, under Insurance Rating Rules. The premium funds go into a U.S. Treasury account that will be used to pay for abortions. See http://republicanleader.house.gov/blog/?p=666 for more details on how this abortion funding will work.

Today may be your last chance to call and email your Representative about this bill. Also plan to personally visit your Representative's office today if you can.

"The Web"

The 7- Ups

1 . Wake Up - Decide to have a good day. "Today is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice & be glad in it" Psalms 118:24

2 . Dress Up - The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart"
I Sam 16:7

3 . Shut Up - Say nice things & learn to listen. God gave us 2 ears and 1 mouth so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. "He who
guards his lips guards his soul" Proverbs 13:3 "Gossip betrays confidence avoid men who talk too much" Proverbs 20:19 "Listen to advice, accept instruction and in the end, you will be wise" Proverbs 19:20

4 . Stand Up - For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything. "Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good..." Galatians 6:9-10

5 . Look Up - To the Lord. "I can do everything through Him who gives me strength" Phillipians 4:13

6 . Reach Up - For something higher. As Jiminy Cricket sings "High Hopes" Always try to better yourself. Have FAITH. "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hebrews11:1

7 . Lift Up - Your Prayers. "Do not worry about anything; instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING" Phillipians 4:6

America's Free Society vs. Socialism

From Naval Aviator, Commander Jerry Wilson

We lived in California during the winters of 2007 and 2008. We became addicted to Fox News and watched O'Reilly and Hannity and Colmes every night.. When we got back home, we upgraded our cable to get Fox. I watched the Presidential campaign very closely. Initially because I thought the Democrats would nominate Hillary Clinton and then in astonishment when they chose an even more hard-left candidate. All of last year I told everyone I could that Obama was not a Democrat, he was a Marxist. He is far to the left of any European leader and even our far left party, the NDP.

I read Saul Alinsky when I was in University. I studied him and his writing carefully. When Bill Ayers and his idiot wife were bombing and killing people at random in the Weather Underground. Weather Underground and the Black Panthers were closely allied. I read David Horowitz's account of changing from a Marxist to a conservative after seeing that the government was afraid to prosecute members of the Panthers for murdering his personal assistant. He suddenly understood the evil that Marxism really was.

After the student radicals failed in creating a Marxist revolution in the United States by violent means, they embraced Alinsky. You would be wise to read "Rules for Radicals" because it outlines how Hillary and Obama planned to get into power, and what they intended to do when they got it.

Socialism is not the correct descriptor for what Obama and the Democrats are doing. They are going to be much more far reaching than anything Sweden has ever been able to do. Obama is following Alinsky's plans, those set out in "Rules for Radicals" and his other writing. The Democrats are attempting to create one party rule in the U. S.. and in achieving that, will create crisis after crisis by their own actions and use those crisis to nationalize the means of production in the U. S. You are in the middle of a communist revolution and few in the U. S. can actually see it for what it truly is.

The U. S. is now on the path of financial destruction. The Constitution has been shredded and individual human rights are being trampled. In less than 8 months. Obama has used a recession to take over the two largest industries in the U.. S. He will debase the Dollar and is on the road to creating an incredible energy shortage that will allow him and Congress to take over the energy industry.

But by and large I think that by the 2010 elections, the Democrats will have gerrymandered electoral districts to the point that it will be impossible for them to lose control of both houses of Congress. The incredible increase in the money supply is going to create Zimbabwe and Venezuela style inflation, and with it, controls on the currency and the amount of money that can be taken out of the country.

I love America , I cannot believe how the ignorance of the American public has created a situation whereby they are going to lose their Republic and slip into an age of repression and tyranny.

I may be nuts, but so far I have been 100% in my predictions of what Obama was going to do, because I merely had to look at "Rules for Radicals" to see what was coming next.

I read Glenn Beck's book, "Common Sense" and in it re-read Thomas Paines pamphlet with the same name. I recommend the book.

When the storm finally hits (and it will), those of you who supported the Obama administration will be affected as well. It won't just be us gun owners or Flat-Taxers, or Pro-Lifers that get hit. You'll be right there next to us.

You all thought the Conservatives were nut cases. You know, all of us who believe in God, small government, the Second Amendment, etc. You thought you could just go back to sleep after the election was over. In your world, America will continue as before. You'll still have the same rights, the same nice house, the same big screen television. After all, your high school football team won and the other team lost - go team! Even if you have bothered to look up from the daily grind since Nov 4th, you dismissed everything that has occurred as "politics as usual-the same old stuff".

In the end, it'll all be OK won't it? Not this time.

There are a growing number of citizens in the US that are ready to fight to shut down the government's grab of personal freedom, it's blatant abuse of the constitution, and it's an attempt to replace the American way of life with socialism. You have to listen carefully to hear them, but they are there. I won't start that fight, but when it goes down I will join it.

As for you, why, you'll be shocked because you didn't see it coming. And eventually you'll be saddened when you see that we have truly lost the way of life with which you grew up. You'll be saddened that your children and grandchildren live in a socialist, government-controlled gulag where their every movement from cradle to grave is tracked by the government. But most of all, you'll be saddened by the death of friends and relatives who are brave enough to fight and die for something they believe in.

You know, McCain wasn't much of a candidate. I'll give you that. He was the lesser of two evils for most of us. I don't blame you for not voting for him since, at the time, you didn't know what we all know now. But at least John McCain was an American. He was a supporter of the American way of life and he understood that you can't negotiate with terrorists. He understood and appreciated the sacrifice made by my father and other members of the Greatest Generation.

Mark my words friends. All across America groups are forming. They are forming out of anger and out of desperation at the thought of losing America.. They're not militia groups, terrorists as the Department of Homeland security would have you believe; they are Americans, loyal to the constitution. They are mothers and fathers and grandparents. They belong to groups like the Minutemen Civil Defense Corps, the Peaceful Resistance, the Constitution Party, the Young Conservatives, the 9/12 Project, and Grassfire. Right now they are fragmented, each focused on their own cause. But sometime in the next two years, our government is going to do something really stupid and these groups will come together. Watch for it, wait for it - get ready. It will happen.

When that event happens, whatever "it" is, our great country is going to plunge into chaos for a while. I pray to God that we make it through that time and emerge a stronger, smarter country.

Behind Obama's Berlin Wall Snub

By Rich Lowry

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2009/11/03/behind_obamas_berlin_wall_snub_98993.html

In his first year in office, Barack Obama has visited more foreign countries than any other president. He's touched ground in 16 countries, easily outpacing Bill Clinton (three) and George W. Bush (eleven). It's an itinerary befitting a "citizen of the world."

But there's one stop Obama won't make. He has begged off going to Berlin next week to attend ceremonies commemorating the fall of the Berlin Wall. His schedule is reportedly too crowded. John F. Kennedy famously told Berliners, "Ich bin ein Berliner." On the 20th anniversary of the last century's most stirring triumph of freedom, Obama is telling them, "Ich bin beschäftigt" - i.e., I'm busy.

It doesn't have quite the same ring, does it? Obama's failure to go to Berlin is the most telling nonevent of his presidency. It's hard to imagine any other American president eschewing the occasion. Only Obama - with his dismissive view of the Cold War as a relic distorting our thinking and his attenuated commitment to America's exceptional role in the world - would spurn German president Angela Merkel's invitation to attend.

Obama famously made a speech in Berlin during last year's campaign, but at an event devoted to celebrating himself as the apotheosis of world hopefulness. He said of 1989, "a wall came down, a continent came together, and history proved that there is no challenge too great for a world that stands as one."

The line was typical Obama verbal soufflé, soaring but vulnerable to collapse upon the slightest jostling from logic or historical fact. The wall came down only after the free world resolutely stood against the Communist bloc. Rather than a warm-and-fuzzy exercise in global understanding, the Cold War was another iteration of the 20th century's long war between totalitarianism and Western liberalism. The West prevailed on the back of American strength.

But Obama doesn't think in such antiquated, triumphalist terms. Given to apologizing for his nation abroad, he resolutely downplays American leadership. "President Obama is applying the same tools to international diplomacy that he used as a community organizer on Chicago's South Side," the Washington Post notes, approaching "the world as a community of nations, more alike than different in outlook and interest." To the extent that the Cold War doesn't fit this unbelievably naïve worldview, it's an intellectual inconvenience.

Wouldn't Obama at least want to take the occasion to celebrate freedom and human rights - those most cherished liberal values? Not necessarily. He has mostly jettisoned them as foreign-policy goals in favor of a misbegotten realism that soft-pedals the crimes of nasty regimes around the world. During the Cold War, we undermined our enemies by shining a bright light on their repression. In Berlin, JFK called out the Communists on their "offense against humanity." Obama would utter such a phrase only with the greatest trepidation, lest it undermine a future opportunity for dialogue.

Pres. Ronald Reagan realized we could meet with the Soviets without conceding the legitimacy of their system. He always spoke up for the dissidents - even when it irked his negotiating partner, Mikhail Gorbachev. Whatever the hardheaded imperatives of geopolitics, we'd remain a beacon of liberty in the world.

Obama has relegated this aspirational aspect of American power to the back seat. For him, we are less an exceptional power than one among many, seeking deals with our peers in Beijing and Moscow. Why would Obama want to celebrate the refuseniks of the Eastern Bloc, when he won't even meet with the Dalai Lama in advance of his trip to China?

So Obama huddles with Merkel during her visit to Washington and leaves it at that. An American president will skip events marking the end of a struggle to which we, as a nation - under presidents of both parties - devoted blood and treasure for 50 years. For Barack Obama, 1989 is just another far-away year - and the Democratic party of such men as Harry S. Truman and JFK has never seemed more distant.

Obama’s Numerous Links with International Marxism Exposed

http://thepostnemail.wordpress.com/2009/09/13/obamas-numerous-links-with-international-marxism-exposed/

AN INTERVIEW WITH TREVOR LOUDON

by John Charlton

Mr. Trevor Loudon

(Sept. 14, 2009) — Revelations that Obama was not just chummy with Marxists and Socialists throughout his life, but even may have been recruited by the KGB, first surfaced with Tom Fife, the physicist’s testimony (see www.rense.com for audio file).

More recently, a New Zealand researcher has obtained documents which connect the dots, and seemingly confirm the Fife testimony.

To get a better understanding of the Communists network in America, I requested an interview with Trevor Loudon, of New Zealand Research Assosciates, who has spent much of his life investigating international marxism and its operatives. Such is Loudon’s authority, that Media Matters recently named him the “Blogger who nailed Van Jones.”

What follows is a highly informative interview with Mr. Loudon, which is a must read for all thoughtful American citizens in the present national crisis.

The Post & Email interviewed Mr. Loudon by email, at his residence in Christchurch, New Zealand.

—————————

MR. CHARLTON: I asked your for this opportunity to interview you on the basis of a research article you recently posted on the Internet at your blog, The New Zeal, regarding the Communist Network in Chicago a generation ago. But before we discuss it, can you tell me something about yourself, for the readers of The Post & Email, who might be unfamiliar with Trevor Loudon, the New Zealand researcher.

MR. LOUDON: I have been researching communism since the 80s-when our own Moscow aligned Marxists turned New Zealand anti-nuclear and destroyed the ANZUS Alliance.

My special interest is the ability of the far left to infiltrate and manipulate “moderate” political parties and institutions to influence public opinion and alter government policies.

I began studying the US communist movement after observing the strength of the Anti-Iraq war movement.

MR. CHARLTON: What was it that lead you to investigate the Communist Network in Chicago?

MR. LOUDON: General research into the Communist Party USA led me to stumble on a reference to Obama and his communist mentor Frank Marshall Davis in early 2007. It piqued my interest-even at that stage I could see he was marked for high office. The more I dug, the more I found-ties to Democratic Socialists of America and Committees of Correspondence and direct evidence of Communist Party support during his 2004 Senate campaign.

MR. CHARLTON: What importance did the Communist Network in Chicago have among the Communists in the U.S.A., before, during and after WWII?

MR. LOUDON: Chicago was the birthplace of US communism — the party was founded there in 1919. Chicago and Detroit were the centers of Midwest communism into the 1930s. The communist influenced “Black renaissance “ movement was centered in two places-Harlem and Chicago’s South Side.

Chicago’s advantage in communist terms, was that the industrial South Side with its large working class white, black and Latino populations was bordered by the more affluent Hyde Park area, and the thoroughly communist infiltrated University of Chicago. The Marxist academics of the UC had half a city of proletarians on their doorstep to experiment with and practice on.

Hyde Park has been a major center of Socialism and communism ever since. I believe it is no accident that Obama based himself there.

MR. CHARLTON: First, for those who may be unfamiliar, can you say something about Communism, Marxism, Leninism? What’s their origin and what’s the difference between them?

MR. LOUDON: Marxism is the collectivist political philosophy developed by Karl Marx in the mid 19th century. Basically it states that class struggle is the motive power of social change and that the working class is destined to overthrow capitalism and establish a classless, communal society-communism.

Leninism — developed obviously by Lenin, father of the 1917 Russian revolution — is simply a philosophy and series of interlinked tactical strategies for achieving power for one group at the expense of all others.

Marxism-Leninism is the use by Marxists, of Leninist strategies to achieve power.

Most modern communists pay lip service only to Marxism, which has been well and truly discredited. Leninism on the other hand has proven highly successful and has been used to take power in dozens of countries.

Most communists today are Leninists in practice, Marxists in name only.

MR. CHARLTON: What role did the Union of Soviet Socialistic Republics have in spreading Communism internationally? And in organizing Communist parties world-wide?

MR. LOUDON: From the late 1920s to the late 1980s, the Soviet Union was unquestionably the leader of world communism.

Soviet defector and former KGB operative Anatoly Golitsyn, claims that even the Sino-Soviet split of the early 1960s was faked in order draw the US closer to China.

I support that view.

MR. CHARLTON: Can we discount claims that the USSR backed communist organizations in the West, since communists existed in the West before they did in Russia?

MR. LOUDON: Once the Russian revolution was consolidated, the Soviet Union became the supreme ruler of the world communist movement.

All direction came from the Communist Party of the Soviet Union until the Khrushchev era, when more ‘independent” forms of communism were introduced.

While some parties were nominally more independent and even critical of Moscow in some instances, the Soviets still maintained their central coordinating role.

MR. CHARLTON: What were the goals of the American Communist Party?

MR. LOUDON: A socialist/communist America — (and they) still are.

From early on the US communists put great emphasis on infiltrating the labor unions, the Democratic Party, the US government and the “civil rights” movement.

While hugely reduced in size the US communists and their allies in Democratic Socialists of America, Committees of Correspondence and the wider “progressive” movement have huge influence on the more than 70 strong Congressional Progressive Caucus, the AFL-CIO and several large black and Latino organizations.

These are being used to break down and alter the character of US society.

MR. CHARLTON: Who were the early leaders of this party in the U.S.A. in the inter war years (1918-1939)?

MR. LOUDON: William Z. Foster and Earl Browder were the main leaders in this period.

MR. CHARLTON: Who were the ringleaders, movers-and-shakers of the Communist Network in Chicago?

MR. LOUDON: In post-World-War-II Chicago you had prominent leaders like William Patterson and his wife Louise, later it was Jack Kling, the Childs brothers (both later revealed to be FBI agents) Claude Lightfoot, Ishmael Flory, Milton Cohen, Abe Feinglass, Richard Criley, Frank Wilkinson, Frank and Bea Lumpkin and Ted Pearson-today its John Bachtell, Scott Marshall and his wife Roberta Wood.

MR. CHARLTON: Who were the prominent African Americans in the Chicago network?

MR. LOUDON: In the 40s they included William and Louise Patterson, Ishmael Flory, Claude Lightfoot, Frank Marshall Davis and Oscar Brown. Vernon Jarrett (father-in-law of Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett) and future Chicago mayor Harold Washington were close to the network as was future Obama friend Timuel Black and close Obama associates: former Illinois State Senator Alice Palmer and one term Illinois Senator Carol Moseley Braun.

MR. CHARLTON: Can you tell me something about the Jarrett family?

MR. LOUDON: Vernon Jarrett was a prominent Chicago journalist who used his columns to promote Barack Obama during his 2004 Senate run (Jarrett died soon after).

In the later 40s Jarrett worked in at least three communist influenced or controlled organizations in common with Frank Marshall Davis — the two worked together on the publicity committee of a communist controlled Packing House Workers strike support committee in 1948..

After that Vernon Jarrett ran a black oriented radio program in partnership with Communist Party member Oscar Brown-later a famous jazz musician.

The Jarretts were family friends with the Bowman family and Valerie Bowman became Valerie Jarrett through a five year marriage to Vernon Jarrett’s now deceased son.

Valerie’s mother Barbara Taylor Bowman runs the Erikson Institute in Chicago. Tom Ayers, father of Weather Underground terrorist leader and Obama associate Bill Ayers served on the Erikson board as did Bill Ayers’ wife Bernardine Dohrn. Bill Ayers claims to be a friend and Hyde park neighbor of Barbara Bowman, who incidentally is an adviser on early childhood education to the Secretary of Education.

Valerie Jarrett hired Michelle Obama for a Chicago City job in the 90s and became a close friend and advisor to both Michelle and Barack, leading to her current job in the White House.

MR. CHARLTON: Can you tell me who was Frank Marshall Davis? And what were his connections to the Chicago Network?

MR. LOUDON: Frank Marshall Davis was a prominent Chicago journalist and poet in 1940s Chicago. He was member of the Dorie Miller Club of the Communist Party, but never publicly admitted membership.

Davis left Chicago for Hawaii in 1948, where he worked on the Honolulu Record, a paper controlled by the communist ‘owned’ International Longshoremen’s Worker Union.

Davis was an active, but still covert Party member in Hawaii and went underground with the Party in the mid 50s-after a Senate Inquiry into communist activities on the islands. Davis was one third of a three member underground cell with his wife Helen Canfield and one other comrade.

At one point the FBI observed Davis photographing obscure Hawaii beaches, leading to speculation that he may have been involved in intelligence gathering.

Davis was marked by the FBI for immediate arrest in the event of war with the Soviet Union.

Like many of his comrades Davis was an official in the Hawaii Democratic Party.

In 1970 Davis was introduced to a 10 year old Barack Obama, by Obama’s grandfather-who was Davis’ friend and drinking buddy.

The Davis/Obama relationship endured until 1978 when Obama left for college in Los Angeles.

Frank Marshall Davis was listed as an endorser of the well documented Communist Party front-Committee for Protection of Foreign Born until at least 1974.

Davis died in 1987.

MR. CHARLTON: Why did Davis go to Hawaii?

MR. LOUDON: It was reportedly at the suggestion of both the singer/activist Paul Robeson and ILWU boss Harry Bridges-both covert party members.

MR. CHARLTON: Did Barry get help from Davis to go to Occidental? To get into Columbia or Harvard?

MR. LOUDON: No evidence

MR. CHARLTON: Did the Chicago Network invite Barack Obama to Chicago?

MR. LOUDON: Obama claims that he was inspired to leave New York for Chicago in 1983 after the election of the city’s first black mayor Harold Washington-who was involved in Party fronts well into the 1980s.

It is important to note that Obama attended “socialist conferences” at the Cooper union while in New York.

Cooper Union was the usual venue of the annual Socialist Scholars Conference which was organized by Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) — the US’s largest socialist/Marxist grouping.

Chicago DSA allied with the Chicago CP to elect Harold Washington and Carol Moseley Braun.

DSA endorsed Obama in his 1995 Illinois State senate run.

Obama joined the Chicago New Party at that time. The New Party was a coalition of ACORN, DSA, Committees of Correspondence and SEIU activists

Obama worked closely with several DSA members in Chicago, a well as with come cadre from Committees of Correspondence — a Communist Party splinter group.

Several of Obama’s close friends, neighbors and colleagues were involved with DSA including Saul Mendelson, Quentin Young, Timuel Black, Rabbi Arnold Wolf, Jackie Grimshaw, Leon Despres and Congressmen Danny Davis and Jan Schakowsky.

Of those Mendelson was an ex Trotskyite, Young is an ex Communist, Despres was an ex Socialist Party member and Trotskyite, Black is also a member of CoC and Davis has ties to both the Communist Party and CoC.

MR. CHARLTON: What history is there between Obama and the Communist Party since his arrival in Chicago?

MR. LOUDON: Obama’s main documented links to the Chicago left were through DSA, Committees of Correspondence and the New Party.

Prominent CoC leader Manning Marable wrote in Britain’s Socialist Review of November 2008:

What makes Obama different is that he has also been a community organizer. He has read left literature, including my works, and he understands what socialism is. A lot of the people working with him are, indeed, socialists with backgrounds in the Communist Party or as independent Marxists. There are a lot of people like that in Chicago who have worked with him for years…

That said, both the Chicago Communist Party and Young Communist League campaigned for Obama in his 2004 Senate race and both organizations overtly campaigned for Obama in 2008.

Communist Party leader Sam Webb recently described Obama as a ‘friend.”

MR. CHARLTON: What does Obama mean by “Change we can believe in“? Who is this “we”, and what is this “change”?

MR. LOUDON: We is the broad ‘progressive movement” which includes the Communist Party, Democratic Socialists of America, Committees of Correspondence, Freedom Road Socialist Organization, ACORN, AFL-CIO, Change to Win, Demos, Institute for Policy Studies, Center for American Progress, Campaign for America’s Future, George Soros’s Open Society institute, United for Peace and Justice, Jobs with Justice, Economic Policy Institute, US Action, Apollo Alliance, the more than 70 strong Congressional Progressive Caucus, Progressive democrats of America, the wider Democratic Party…..etc, etc and their allies in the MSM, academia and government.

The change is towards a unionized, centralized, oligarchic “progressive” society where the values of the left reign supreme and traditional American values are demonized and all opposition is marginalized-by whatever means necessary.

MR. CHARLTON: Was Obama ever a Communist Party Candidate? A Socialist Party candidate?

MR. LOUDON: I doubt he was ever that silly. The New Party which Obama did join was established by DSA, CoC, ACORN, SEIU and the far left Institute for Policy Studies, but it was leftist, rather than openly Marxist.

MR. CHARLTON: Who in the current Obama Administration has ties to the Communist or Socialist parties?

MR. LOUDON: Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis has ties to the Communist Party, DSA, Socialist International and Cuba.

David Bonior (formerly number two Democrat in Congress) who is working for Obama to re-unite the AFL-CIO and Change to Win is a paid up DSA member.

Carol Browner (Energy/Climate change) has ties to the Socialist International-which despite its name now includes several ‘former’ communist parties — and China as an “observer”.

David Axelrod was mentored by two Communist Party linked activists, Don Rose and David S Canter in his early days in Chicago. At one point Canter, an importer of Soviet literature was required to register as an agent of the Soviet Union.

Van Jones, was of course involved with STORM and the Bay Area Committees of Correspondence.

New manufacturing Czar Ron Bloom is an anti-capitalist with some links to DSA

There are others who I’d rather “keep my powder dry” on at this time.

MR. CHARLTON: Is there any significance in the kind of authority or power he has given to each, regarding the “Change” that he wants to introduce?

MR. LOUDON: Take “manufacturing Czar Ron Bloom — I predict that he will push for card-check to increase union power.

He will also push for single payer health care. He will run the argument that to make US industry competitive, industry must be relieved of the health benefits burden. It must instead be loaded on to the taxpayer to get “industry’-unionized industry only of course-“back on its feet.

All the Czars have, I believe, been picked to centralize and socialize their particular sector of US society — or to provide camouflage for their underlings who will do the real work.

MR. CHARLTON: What significance do you put on the evidence you have gathered?

MR. LOUDON: That’s for my readers to decide.

MR. CHARLTON: For the record, from your research, can you say if there is any kind of collaboration or alliance between international Communism and Islamic Fundamentalism?

MR. LOUDON: That goes very deep. It is nothing new-the communists have been infiltrating Islam since the twenties, just as they have Christianity in the west and Hinduism and Buddhism in South Asia.

There are numerous links between Middle Eastern communist parties and the PLO and other radical Islamic groups. The same in the US-the left has bent over backwards to defend Islamic radicalism and attack all US efforts to defeat militant Islam.

MR. CHARLTON: Does China have any role in the Communist Party in America?

MR. LOUDON: Yes-the Communist Party USA has developed extensive ties to China in recent years. The Russians haven’t been forgotten though. Party leader Sam Webb was in Moscow a couple of years ago.

MR. CHARLTON: Why should free peoples everywhere, be wary about Communists after the fall of the Berlin Wall?

MR. LOUDON: Because China has 70 million party members and the movement is very strong in Europe, Japan, Latin America, Southern Africa and of course Russia.

You also have 70 members of the congressional progressive caucus, most of whom would be very comfortable in a European socialist or communist party.

You have a president who…….

Your media tells you little of communist/socialist strength overseas and nothing of your internal threats.

The big advantage that modern communists and socialists have over their 1950s counterparts is that today they have virtually zero governmental or media opposition.

Until Fox news that is.

MR. CHARLTON: What kind of Communist infiltration is there in the Main Stream Media in the West? Is their editorial policy based on this?

MR. LOUDON: The left infiltrated the journalism schools very early in the piece-turning budding reporters into “social change agents” rather than objective news gatherers.

Add to that a craven fear of being labeled a “McCarthyist” and a deliberate policy of infiltrating leftists into key media positions and you have a big problem.

The MSM practically went through Sarah Palin’s underwear drawer — which is perfectly legitimate as every candidate for high office deserves scrutiny — but gave Barack Obama and Van Jones a free pass.

MSM bias is blatant. Thank god for the internet and Glenn Beck.

MR. CHARLTON: Is there anything you would like to add?

MR. LOUDON: Thanks for the opportunity to address your readers.

MR. CHARLTON: Thank you for your time and availability Mr. Loudon; it has been a pleasure to speak with you about the Communist ties of Barack Hussein Obama.
