BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR EMAILS

Unlike paper letters that can easily can be removed from the mailbox before the mail carrier arrives (and later shredded), email is virtually permanent, irreversible, and can be shared with others. Furthermore, deleted messages can later be resurrected. Use discretion and caution when sending messages containing personal information because there is no such thing as a confidential email message. Here are some email cautions to remember:

Don’t write anything in an email that you would not want to see in the newspaper – or addressed in a court of law.

Misinterpretations can occur when you’re not there to explain things. Pay attention to tone, use care with humor, and avoid sarcasm completely.

Keep it clean. Don’t send derogatory or gossipy emails. Even though the temptation may occasionally be great – or the recipient seemingly trustworthy – remember that emails can be forwarded (accidentally or purposely), printed, and even read aloud.
Never send emails in a fit of anger. Consider writing down your thoughts and using the telephone instead – and count to 10 (or 100!) before making the call. Better yet, write your response and wait a day. Then reread it, adjust as needed, and then send it.

When it doubt, don’t send it out! If you are questioning whether or not an email is appropriate (for any reason), don’t send it! Chances are your doubts are well-founded and you’ll likely save yourself a lot of grief by abstaining.

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty---the One who always was, who is, and who is still to come. (Revelation 4:8)

Isaiah was a prominent citizen of Judah during the eighth century B.C., a prophet of God. Today, we would consider him one of the "spiritual elite." Isaiah was focused on the sins of others, calling them to repentance.

But at one point, Isaiah had a vision of heaven and the holiness of the Creator. Now that he found himself in the very presence of our holy God, he became dramatically aware of his own sin and unrighteousness. As the seraphim flew they were saying, "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty." Terrified, he exclaimed, "My destruction is sealed, for I am a sinful man and a member of a sinful race....I have seen the King, the Lord Almighty!" (Isaiah 6:5).

When the angels surround the glorious throne of God, they sing, "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty." Stephen Charnock comments, "Do you hear, in any angelical song, any other perfection of the Divine Nature thrice repeated? Where do we read of them crying out, 'eternal, eternal, eternal' or 'faithful, faithful, faithful' Lord God of hosts?"

This repetition, "holy, holy, holy," tells us that God's holiness is the supreme attribute of His being, the foundation of His eternal existence. His sovereignty and His role as judge are rooted in and flow out of His holiness. In fact, theologians speak of God's holiness as His "central and supreme perfection."

Unfortunately, God's holiness has been ignored by modern Christianity. Our unwillingness to acknowledge a holy God reflects our failure to recognize who God really is.

Display with Ten Commandments Ruled Constitutional by Court of Appeals

We have good news to report in an important legal battle against the ACLU!

Today in the case of ACLU v. Grayson County, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled in favor of a public display including the Ten Commandments, on the second floor of a Leitchfield, Kentucky courthouse.

Mat Staver presented the winning oral argument on behalf of Grayson County in April 2009. The case began in 2002 when the ACLU filed a lawsuit against the county and a federal judge ruled against the display. The display is identical to the displays at issue in the ACLU's lawsuits against McCreary and Pulaski Counties in Kentucky, which Mat argued at the U.S. Supreme Court in 2005.

In 2005, this same appeals court upheld the same Ten Commandments display in Mercer County, KY, which Liberty Counsel also defended.

Since 2005, four federal courts of appeal have upheld Ten Commandments displays. Three of these four involve the same display that Liberty Counsel defended in this case. Since 2005, every federal court of appeals which has addressed Ten Commandments displays has upheld them.

In fact, the ACLU has not won a Ten Commandments case at the court of appeals level since 2005!

We do not expect the ACLU to appeal this case to the Supreme Court. The ACLU has been running from the Supreme Court since 2005 and have taken loss after loss on the Ten Commandments.

Pray that the Lord continues to bless Liberty Counsel as we continue to battle the ACLU in other cases.

Christian Defense Group Publishes ‘Top 10 Anti-Christian Acts of 2009’

(CNSNews.com) – The Christian Anti-Defamation Commission (CADC) published a list of what it views as the 10 worst “anti-Christian acts” of 2009, including the murder of a pro-life protester, expansion of federal hate-crimes laws, and controversial presidential appointments.

culled from a poll taken by subscribers to the CADC’s Web site and listeners on its radio programs, chronicles what the group’s members think were the most anti-Christian stories from the previous year.

CADC President Dr. Gary Cass told CNSNews.com that the list reflects the frustrations Christians feel with their society and their government. That the expansion of federal hate crimes laws was the top vote-getter on the list, for example, reflected the fear Christians have that they might be targeted for teaching their faith’s traditional opposition to homosexual behavior, which Christianity holds to be sinful.

“This is their perspective on the most anti-Christian acts of 2009, in the U.S.,” Cass said. “Why the federal hate crimes law? I believe what they’re expressing is just a general sense of frustration with the federal government, especially the Obama administration, and for the first time in our history now, [Christian] ministers are subject to being investigated, perhaps even convicted, simply for exercising their First Amendment religious liberties and free speech.”

Cass explained that if a pastor or priest were to say something considered to have incited a hate crime, that pastor or priest might be subject to investigation or prosecution. Cass noted that while no ministers have yet been prosecuted or investigated under the newly enacted law, the mere possibility could be enough to silence preaching on this hot-button topic.

“If they say something that can be considered to be inflammatory or inciting of a hate crime – let’s say that a minister preaches a sermon and some unstable person misunderstands and goes out and creates or perpetrates a hate crime – not only the person who commits the act but the minister who ‘incited’ him would be equally culpable for the act,” said Cass.

“Here’s the net effect of this kind of a law,” he said. “If you are prone to want to be careful … why even risk saying anything for fear of being misunderstood, even if you’re never convicted of a crime?”

President Obama’s selection of three people the CADC viewed as anti-Christian was ranked number two on the list. Those appointees – safe schools czar Kevin Jennings, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, and Equal Opportunity Commission member Chai Feldblum – showed that Obama had “gone out of his way” to find people with anti-Christian values, Cass said.

“The reason our subscribers voted the way they did, I think – [on] that particular matter of the appointments of Obama – it seems as if he went out of his way to find the most radical, anti-Christian appointees that he could,” said Cass, “in the sense that these people either are personally anti-Christian in their sentiments but they certainly are in their value systems.”

Cass said that Jennings’ various stances on sexuality, Sebelius’s support for abortion, and Feldblum’s comments on reconciling gay rights with religious liberty all contributed to Christians feeling that Obama might be anti-Christian.

“You have, again, Kathleen Sebelius, the most radical pro-abortion governor from Kansas who’s awash in George Tiller’s abortion money – that’s how she built her political career and that’s a documented fact,” said Cass. “He [Obama] appoints her Health and Human Services [Secretary] -- that’s very terrifying in that this whole health care bill could come under her jurisdiction. That’s very terrifying.”

“Secondly you’ve got Kevin Jennings, the so-called safe schools czar, the most radical homosexual activist from Massachusetts that you could find, who has decades of phenomenally controversial and perverted things that are attributable to him,” said Cass.
“Yet, in Obama’s mind, apparently he’s mainstream.”

Cass continued: “And then you’ve got Chai Feldblum who said, when asked if there’s ever a situation where homosexual rights and religious liberty conflict, do you foresee any time when religious liberty might trump homosexuals rights, and she said, ‘no, it’s simply, gays win, Christians lose.’”

The Department of Homeland Security’s controversial definition of “right-wing extremist” earned the nod as the number three most anti-Christian act of the year, Cass said, because it demonstrated a “new level of anti-Christian hostility” by equating positions held by many conservative Christians with the motivations of violent racist groups such as the Aryan Nations.

“That is indicative of, I think, a new level of anti-Christian hostility,” Cass said. “Because now it seems that the federal government is beginning to bring into its policies and its institutions a very negative stereotypical approach. So that if you are a Christian who happens to believe your Bible – and God forbid you are a veteran who owned a gun and a Christian who believes your Bible – you’re a walking time bomb, you’re a terrorist ready to go off.”

“But last time I checked it wasn’t Bible-believing Christians who were trying to light their underwear on fire on airplanes.” Cass said.

CADC has just released our list of the top ten incidents of anti-Christian defamation, bigotry and discrimination in the US from last year. The list was selected by you, our readers, by narrowing down the top ten from a list of twenty of CADC’s top stories from 2009.

It is arguable that anti-Christian hatred has spilled over into material forms of persecution in 2009. Christians were killed and bullied for their witness, ministers and churches threatened with violence and vandalized for standing for marriage, and Christians were fired for not compromising their faith. If these are not bona fide examples of persecution, than I wonder what more it might take?

6. Police called to East Jessamine Middle School in Lexington, Kentucky to stop 8th graders from praying during their lunch break for a student whose mother was tragically killed.

5. Pro-life activist Jim Pullion was murdered in front of his granddaughter's high school for showing the truth about abortion.

4. An activist judge ordered a home school mom in New Hampshire to stop home schooling her daughter because the little girl “reflected too strongly” her mother’s Christian faith.

3. The Federal Department of Homeland Security issued a report entitled "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate" that labeled conservative Christians extremists and potential terrorists.

Everything’s staged: Michelle Obama’s garden food was fake

So, this Iron Chef revelation about Michelle Obama’s produce http://www.chicagotribune.com/features/food/chi-talk-white-house-veggiesjan14,0,7560057.story is entirely in keeping with Obama Theater:

For months, the Food Network ran ads about a forthcoming episode of “Iron Chef America,” its flagship chefs plus secret ingredient versus time competition. The show would take place at the White House garden, with Michelle Obama making a cameo and plugging her responsible-eating initiative. The network promised it would be its biggest episode ever.

The buildup matched the reality: The Jan. 3 “Iron Chef America” drew 7.6 million viewers, the highest-rated show in network history. In it, superstar chef Mario Batali teamed with Emeril Lagasse, and Bobby Flay with White House chef Cristeta Comerford to cook five dishes using the secret ingredient: produce from the White House garden.

Except for one thing: As first reported on AOL’s Politics Daily blog, the fruits and vegetables used on the show weren’t from the White House. They were stunt produce. Ringers.

At the beginning of the two-hour special, the chefs were shown picking sweet potatoes, broccoli, fennel and tomatillos from the White House garden. Then the chefs were seen walking into Kitchen Stadium, produce in hand. One problem: The show is filmed in New York City.

No doubt they’ll argue it was “Fake but accurate.”



Obama's anti-jobs policy

High and/or rising unemployment is always a political liability for a president, and so Barack Obama has taken the offensive in trying to persuade the American people that his team can get Americans back to work.

In November, Obama took credit for having created 640,000 jobs. That audacious assertion was less than persuasive, coming as it did near the end of a year during which the number of employed Americans declined by over four million while the unemployment rate rose from eight percent to 10 percent.

Team Obama's credibility came into question again when alert reporters pointed out an embarrassingly large number of "inaccuracies" in the Obama administration's claims of jobs "saved" and "created" by the stimulus plan he pushed through Congress last winter. This included isolated stories about things like more than 900 jobs being saved in a Georgia business with only 500 employees. Then it quickly snowballed when researchers examined Obama's recovery.gov website and tabulated official claims of tens of thousands of phantom jobs in nonexistent congressional districts.

This unseemly episode raised issues of competence and trust in terms of whether Team Obama had what it took to help the unemployment situation (and never mind whether these are the people you want redesigning the country's healthcare and energy industries). In fact, it proved to be an advantageous diversion for Team Obama, because it deflected attention away from the administration's actual record of adopting policies that have increased the number of unemployed Americans.

In June, the minimum wage rate increased 75 cents. This government intervention priced many young Americans out of jobs, with the unemployment rate for black teens rising from an already-too-high 39 percent to an abominable 50 percent.

Team Obama's aggressive attempts to raise taxes on businesses and employees to pay for his healthcare plan would significantly increase the costs of employing people, making businesses afraid to hire. And the cap-and-trade scheme would increase energy costs dramatically, further adding to business worries. (Incidentally, economic studies have shown that Obama's cap-and-trade program would reduce American employment by between one to two million jobs per year.)

Another factor that has aggravated unemployment this year is that Uncle Sam's enormous budget deficit has consumed virtually all the available credit, crippling the ability of private businesses to hire new workers.

Obama's fundamental problem regarding jobs is that he believes all that baloney about government having quasi-deific powers as an alleged "creator" and "savior" of jobs. Yes, government can put people on its payroll or prop up certain jobs, but only by redirecting scarce capital and resources from elsewhere in the economy, thereby reducing employment in the private sector.

Examples abound:

What about the Obama hype about creating new "green" jobs? Lots of luck! Germany's government tried this, and every "green" job cost $240,000 and raised the overall unemployment rate. Each solar energy job in sunny Spain resulted in the loss of 2.2 other jobs.

Even in our own nation's history, it is no coincidence that unemployment stubbornly remained at atrocious levels for all the years that FDR's jobs programs were in place.

As history shows, governments are not creators and saviors of jobs on a net basis, but effective destroyers of jobs.

A little economic knowledge explains why this happens.

When a job exists only because of a government subsidy (whether in the form of a grant, a tax credit, or any other policy device), then what the job produces is worth less than the worker is being paid. Society as a whole is made poorer by the difference between the value of what the worker produces and what the government pays him, and that wealth is withdrawn from the private sector. Even if government could miraculously hire workers to do exactly the work that citizens want most and pay them true market wages (and no government planners ever have sufficient specific knowledge to make these decisions, which is why centrally planned economies always stagnate), such a program would make society poorer and therefore reduce overall employment. Why? Because of the overhead costs of administering the program: the armies of bureaucrats (with their cars and offices) needed to study, administer, and keep records on the government-employed "non-governmental" workers.

The Obama/Pelosi/Reid axis rushed to defuse the fake jobs scandal of November by holding a "jobs summit" in December. The outcome of that summit was more of the same failed policies of government spending and government subsidies that will finance uneconomical jobs at the expense of economically rational jobs in the private sector. As a result, high unemployment will persist throughout 2010.

One of the tragedies of Barack Obama's presidency is that the more he tries to use government to improve the job market, the more he throttles that market. Let go, Mr. President. You're making things worse.



Obama Trifecta

President Obama just completed the UNHOLY and ANTI-AMERICANTRIFECTA:

1st president in 110 years to miss the annual Army-Navy Football Game.
1st president to not attend any Christmas religious observance.
1st president to stay on vacation after a terrorist attack.

Add to that the first President not to stay in Washington for Christmas for the last 20 years. Past Presidents did not leave Washington for Christmas vacation until after Christmas. This was done so that their staff (Secret Service, Air Force One Crew, Limousine transport, Presidential advancing logistics etc.) could be with their families for Christmas.



Confronting Islam: 'America as the Last Man Standing'

Dear friends,

Thank you very much for inviting me.

I come to America with a mission. All is not well in the old world. There is a tremendous danger looming, and it is very difficult to be optimistic. We might be in the final stages of the Islamization of Europe. This not only is a clear and present danger to the future of Europe itself, it is a threat to America and the sheer survival of the West. The United States as the last bastion of Western civilization, facing an Islamic Europe.

First I will describe the situation on the ground in Europe. Then, I will say a few things about Islam. To close I will tell you about a meeting in Jerusalem.

The Europe you know is changing. You have probably seen the landmarks. But in all of these cities, sometimes a few blocks away from your tourist destination, there is another world. It is the world of the parallel society created by Muslim mass-migration. All throughout Europe a new reality is rising: entire Muslim neighborhoods where very few indigenous people reside or are even seen. And if they are, they might regret it. This goes for the police as well. It's the world of head scarves, where women walk around in figureless tents, with baby strollers and a group of children. Their husbands, or slaveholders if you prefer, walk three steps ahead. With mosques on many street corners. The shops have signs you and I cannot read. You will be hard-pressed to find any economic activity. These are Muslim ghettos controlled by religious fanatics. These are Muslim neighborhoods, and they are mushrooming in every city across Europe . These are the building-blocks for territorial control of increasingly larger portions of Europe , street by street, neighborhood by neighborhood, city by city.

There are now thousands of mosques throughout Europe. With larger congregations than there are in churches. And in every European city there are plans to build super-mosques that will dwarf every church in the region. Clearly, the signal is: we rule.

Many European cities are already one-quarter Muslim: just take Amsterdam, Marseille and Malmo in Sweden. In many cities the majority of the under-18 population is Muslim. Paris is now surrounded by a ring of Muslim neighborhoods. Mohammed is the most popular name among boys in many cities. In some elementary schools in Amsterdam the farm can no longer be mentioned, because that would also mean mentioning the pig, and that would be an insult to Muslims. Many state schools in Belgium and Denmark only serve halal food to all pupils. In once-tolerant Amsterdam gays are beaten up almost exclusively by Muslims. Non-Muslim women routinely hear 'whore, whore'. Satellite dishes are not pointed to local TV stations, but to stations in the country of origin. In France school teachers are advised to avoid authors deemed offensive to Muslims, including Voltaire and Diderot; the same is increasingly true of Darwin .. The history of the Holocaust can no longer be taught because of Muslim sensitivity. In England sharia courts are now officially part of the British legal system.. Many neighborhoods in France are no-go areas for women without head scarves. Last week a man almost died after being beaten up by Muslims in Brussels, because he was drinking during the Ramadan. Jews are fleeing France in record numbers, on the run for the worst wave of anti-Semitism since World War II. French is now commonly spoken on the streets of Tel Aviv and Netanya, Israel. I could go on forever with stories like this. Stories about Islamization.

A total of fifty-four million Muslims now live in Europe . San Diego University recently calculated that a staggering 25 percent of the population in Europe will be Muslim just 12 years from now. Bernhard Lewis has predicted a Muslim majority by the end of this century.

Now these are just numbers. And the numbers would not be threatening if the Muslim-immigrants had a strong desire to assimilate. But there are few signs of that. The Pew Research Center reported that half of French Muslims see their loyalty to Islam as greater than their loyalty to France. One-third of French Muslims do not object to suicide attacks. Muslim demands are supported by unlawful behavior, ranging from petty crimes and random violence, for example against ambulance workers and bus drivers, to small-scale riots. They do not come to integrate into our societies, they come to integrate our society into their Dar-al-Islam. Therefore, they are settlers.

Let no one fool you about Islam being a religion. Sure, it has a god, and a here-after, and 72 virgins. But in its essence Islam is a political ideology. It is a system that lays down detailed rules for society and the life of every person. Islam wants to dictate every aspect of life. Islam means 'submission'. Islam is not compatible with freedom and democracy, because what it strives for is sharia.

If you want to compare Islam to anything, compare it to communism or national-socialism, these are all totalitarian ideologies.

Now you know why Winston Churchill called Islam 'the most retrograde force in the world', and why he compared Mein Kampf to the Quran. The public has wholeheartedly accepted the Palestinian narrative, and sees Israel as the aggressor. I have lived in this country and visited it dozens of times. I support Israel. First, because it is the Jewish homeland after two thousand years of exile up to and including Auschwitz, second because it is a democracy, and third because Israel is our first line of defense.

This tiny country is situated on the fault line of jihad, frustrating Islam's territorial advance. Israel is facing the front lines of jihad, like Kashmir, Kosovo, the Philippines, Southern Thailand, Darfur in Sudan, Lebanon, and Aceh in Indonesia. Israel is simply in the way. The same way West-Berlin was during the Cold War.

The war against Israel is not a war against Israel. It is a war against the West. It is jihad. Israel is simply receiving the blows that are meant for all of us. If there would have been no Israel, Islamic imperialism would have found other venues to release its energy and its desire for conquest. Thanks to Israeli parents who send their children to the army and lay awake at night, parents in Europe and America can sleep well and dream, unaware of the dangers looming.

Many in Europe argue in favor of abandoning Israel in order to address the grievances of our Muslim minorities. But if Israel were, God forbid, to go down, it would not bring any solace to the West. It would not mean our Muslim minorities would all of a sudden change their behavior, and accept our values. On the contrary, the end of Israel would give enormous encouragement to the forces of Islam. They would, and rightly so, see the demise of Israel as proof that the West is weak, and doomed. The end of Israel would not mean the end of our problems with Islam, but only the beginning. It would mean the start of the final battle for world domination. If they can get Israel, they can get everything. So-called journalists volunteer to label any and all critics of Islamization as a 'right-wing extremists' or 'racists'. In my country, the Netherlands, 60 percent of the population now sees the mass immigration of Muslims as the number one policy mistake since World War II. And another 60 percent sees Islam as the biggest threat. Yet there is a danger greater danger than terrorist attacks, the scenario of America as the last man standing. The lights may go out in Europe faster than you can imagine. An Islamic Europe means a Europe without freedom and democracy, an economic wasteland, an intellectual nightmare, and a loss of military might for America—as its allies will turn into enemies, enemies with atomic bombs. With an Islamic Europe, it would be up to America alone to preserve the heritage of Rome, Athens and Jerusalem.

Dear friends, liberty is the most precious of gifts. My generation never had to fight for this freedom, it was offered to us on a silver platter, by people who fought for it with their lives. All throughout Europe American cemeteries remind us of the young boys who never made it home, and whose memory we cherish. My generation does not own this freedom; we are merely its custodians. We can only hand over this hard won liberty to Europe 's children in the same state in which it was offered to us. We cannot strike a deal with mullahs and imams. Future generations would never forgive us. We cannot squander our liberties. We simply don't have the right to do so.
