WISDOM

If you support our national security issues, you may love and appreciate the United States of America, our Constitution with its’ freedoms, and our American flag.

If you support and practice our fiscal issues, you may value worldly possessions.

If you support and value our social issues, you may love Judeo-Christian values.

If you support and practice all these values, that is all good; an insignia of “Wisdom” . - Oscar Y. Harward

In response to President Obama’s announcement that he supports Palestinian demands to redraw the Israeli borders to the pre-1967 parameters, Representative Allen West (R-Fla.) declared that Obama’s endorsement of that policy “could be the beginning of the end as we know it for the Jewish state.”

West labeled Obama’s support of the pre-1967 borders the “most egregious foreign policy decision,” explaining:

The pre-1967 borders endorsed by President Obama would deny millions of the world’s Jews access to their holiest site and force Israel to return the strategically important Golan Heights to Syria, a known state-sponsor of terrorism.

Resorting to the pre-1967 borders would mean a full withdrawal by the Israelis from the West Bank and the Jewish neighborhoods of East Jerusalem. Make no mistake, there has always been a Nation of Israel and Jerusalem has been and must always be recognized as its rightful capital.

President Obama has not stood for Israel of the Jewish people and has made it clear where the United States will stand when Palestine attempts to gain recognition of statehood by the United Nations. The President should focus on the real obstacle to security — the Palestinian leadership and its ultimate goal to eliminate Israel and the Jewish people.

West has been an adamant supporter of Israel. In January, he delivered a speech at the Americans Against Hate Pro-Israel Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Congressman believes that America should continue to “stand by our strongest ally, the Jewish State of Israel.”

The Florida congressman continues to disagree with America’s current foreign policy. Questioning U.S. support of the Egyptian revolution, for example, he asked, “Why should American taxpayers provide foreign aid to a nation where the next chapter in their history may be the emergence of another radical Islamic state?”

Because West is a potential GOP contender for a 2012 presidential bid, his response to President Obama’s announcement is noteworthy. West has also indicated an interest in a possible vice presidential bid, after GOP presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich listed him as a good candidate for the position.
