So Joe Biden has had a sniper-fire incident of his own... On Monday, he relayed to the National Guard Association his firsthand understanding of the war in Afghanistan. Earlier this year, he claimed, "my helicopter was forced down, with a three-star general and three senators at 10,500 feet in the middle of those mountains." The implication was that the chopper had come under fire. In reality, however, Biden's adventure was akin to Hillary Clinton's whopper (http://PatriotShop.US/product_info.php?cPath=35&products_id=734) about landing under sniper fire in Bosnia in 1996. In fact, a snowstorm forced Biden's copter to land, and his group headed back to a U.S. Air Base in a motorized convoy instead. Oops.

Congress is going to serve as the "watchdog" over the dispensing and recovery of these funds? Can you say, "fox in the henhouse"?

Barack Obama's neighborhood newspaper, the Hyde Park Herald, has a longstanding tradition of opening its pages to elected officials-from Chicago aldermen to state legislators to U.S. senators. Obama himself, as a state senator, wrote more than 40 columns for the Herald, under the title "Springfield Report," between 1996 and 2004. Read in isolation, Obama's columns from the state capital tell us little. Placed in the context of political and policy battles then raging in Illinois, however, the young legislator's dispatches powerfully illuminate his political beliefs. Even more revealing are hundreds of articles chronicling Obama's early political and legislative activities in the pages not only of the Hyde Park Herald, but also of another South Side fixture, the Chicago Defender.

Obama moved to Chicago in order to place himself in what he understood to be the de facto "capital" of black America. For well over 100 years, the Chicago Defender has been the voice of that capital, and therefore a paper of national significance for African Americans. Early on in his political career, Obama complained of being slighted by major media, like the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times. Yet extensive and continuous coverage in both the Chicago Defender and the Hyde Park Herald presents a remarkable resource for understanding who Obama is. Reportage in these two papers is particularly significant because Obama's early political career-the time between his first campaign for the Illinois State Senate in 1995 and his race for U.S. Senate in 2004-can fairly be called the "lost years," the period Obama seems least eager to talk about, in contrast to his formative years in Hawaii, Califo rnia, and New York or his days as a community organizer, both of which are recounted in his memoir, Dreams from My Father. But many conservatives understood that, by capitulating to the political Left, McCain and the Republican Party were ceding unnecessary ground to Barack Obama and his “progressive” Democrats.

In his classic 1932 book, Toward Soviet America, Communist Party boss William Z. Foster wrote about how “The United Soviet States of America” would come about. As a result of various capitalist crises, the national government would assume more and more control over the economy. “In finance,” he wrote, “it will mean the nationalization of the banking system and its concentration around a central State bank…”

It would be an exaggeration to say that we are getting close to anything resembling the Soviet system. But it is also a big mistake to call massive federal intervention in the economy a “rescue” or even a “bailout.”

Recently I read about the ACLU is trying to sue the US Naval Academy to stop them from praying to God. Here is what I sent them.

Exercise of our 1st Amendment Rights (responsible freedoms) especially freedom of expression, even religious expressions that are respectful of others, even as Government employees, and even while on Government tax-payer-funded property (if we are not wasting Government time, money or resources), doesn't depend on whether or not others believe or agree with our expressions, even if they are in management positions, or even if they are atheists, even if our good natured expressions cause them to feel bad. Furthermore, if upper level managers allow our religious expressions and public prayers, that should never be construed as State or Corporate "endorsement" of a particular religion.

Jefferson's "Wall of Separation of Church and State" was only intended to separate the "administration" of religion and politics, not to separate God's moral influences from our Government leaders' hearts nor from our legislative process. The only "wall of separation" in America should be between our government (State/Federal/local) and the ACLU (Atheists, Communists, Liberals United).

Most Americans oppose immoral acts, not because of fear (phobias), but because we love the heritage produced by high moral standards. Besides, immoral acts are not included in our 1st Amendment freedom ofexpression; only verbal and written expressions.

Just because people get angry and react negatively against our Bible-based religious expressions and to our peaceful resistance to their immorality, that doesn't mean they are right; but it means they are wrong and don't like the feeling of being wrong. My dad had a saying for people like this (and so-called "atheists" like Mike Newdow, who are "infuriated" with the phrase "One Nation under God" in our Pledge of allegiance). "They are stewing in their own juice." Even the devil and his demons are not atheists; they "believe and tremble" (James 2:19) at the name of Jesus Christ, because they recognize the power in His name. That is why the ACLU doesn't want anyone in our government to pray "in Jesus' name" or on public property.

If you study the Hebrew and Greek words translated "worship" in the Bible, it is easy to see that there is no such thing as an atheist. Everyone has gods and idols (lusts, fears, accomplishments and visual images) they worship and submit to daily. When people admire and submit to the life of love and holiness demonstrated by Jesus Christ, they worshipping the true God.

Our great country of USA was established over 230 years ago by Government leaders who believed the Bible, and were thus motivated by God to leave tyrannical (religious-controlled government and government-controlled religion) and immoral influences in Europe and England, and to separate themselves by 3,000 miles of water. America is like the second Canaan Land. The only way we can maintain the wonderful heritage God enabled us to establish by His divine influence in our Founders' hearts, is for current Government leaders to keep God's influence in their hearts.
