Some years ago, and after serving several years on the local County Board of Elections, one fact balanced the challenge. When using paper ballots and counting the ballot with a “scanner”, it is imperative to let the scanner only, work as designed to do, and count the votes.
When individuals try to count paper ballots which are designed to be counted for a scanner, personal choice begin to enter into the decision making conclusion(s), trying to justify their choice to get into the brain of the voter(s).
For example, when a proposed voter makes an X over an area which is to be covered if counted, the person(s) counting the vote for or against the candidate making the decision is making a determination as to whether the proposed voter wanted to vote for an individual, or did the voter want to vote against the candidate. Allow the scanners to do the job they are designed to do. Scanners are not political partisan. The scanner machines don’t care whether the vote is for a Democrat, a Republican, or an Independent. Persons making the determination for or against a candidate usually care, as to who gets the vote.
Each and every voter has a right to cast their ballot correctly, and/or ask for the assistance of their choice, and to make sure their voting ballot is properly marked and counted. Individuals should not be trying to make a determination of any ballots votes, when the ballot is improperly marked.

The Obama campaign says its candidate is a victim of “smears” — and has even created a Web site to fight such attacks.
But a Newsmax investigation finds many of the so-called smears are largely based in truth — and the Obama campaign uses half-truths, clever language, and ad hominem attacks to spin the facts.
Obama’s www.FightTheSmears.com focuses mainly on anti-Obama messages being repeated on the Internet and talk radio, the only media where Obama's ideological allies are not dominant.
These "smears" and the Obama rebuttals are often framed in lawyerly language that leaves much wiggle room in the candidate’s answers.
FightTheSmears.com also makes no attempt at objectivity, describing Obama’s critics as “pushing misleading research and distorted claims” because they are “ideologues” busy “spreading a ‘pack of lies’ about Barack.”

A conservative author says one of Barack Obama's most trusted economic advisers holds internationalist views that threaten American sovereignty.
During their final presidential debate, Barack Obama rejected John McCain's claim that the Illinois senator's associations with former domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and the liberal group ACORN are troubling. Obama noted that, on economic policy, he associates with Warren Buffett and former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker. Buffet and Volcker are among the advisers that Obama says "have shaped [his] ideas and who will be surrounding [him] in the White House."
Tom Kilgannon, president of Freedom Alliance, says Volcker supports the idea of an international regulatory body overseeing America's capitalist economic system. "Paul Volcker, I think, brings a great desire to add more regulation, both domestically and internationally," Kilgannon explains. "He comes from the big government wing, and that's how he would approach issues like this -- get the government more involved."
Volcker, according to Kilgannon, was not aggressive enough in his investigation of the United Nations "Oil for Food" scandal in 2004. Volcker was appointed by former U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan to lead the probe of the scandal, which occurred under Annan's watch. According to Kilgannon, the appointment was a conflict of interest.
"When the final report came out, issued by Volcker about the Oil for Food scandal, he pulled his punches on the Secretary General and the Secretary General's son Kojo Annan, who was also involved in the scandal," he says.
Kilgannon believes, since Volcker is tied in with the United Nations and the international finance community, his role in a future Obama administration would be troubling.

What’s on Bill Ayers’ door

Guess his Mao poster and Obama signs are hanging in the bedroom. Via Chicago Trib:
Ayers’ office door is decorated with pictures of Mumia Abu-Jamal, Che Guevara and Malcolm X. It is also home to pictures of children, bills of rights for students and parents, and a rainbow-hued greeting card advising “How to Be Really Alive.” A place of prominence is give to a New Yorker cartoon of a man interviewing for a job. The interviewer says, “I’m trying to find a way to balance your strengths against your felonies.”
“Rehabilitated” my foot.
In related Ayers’ news, read this e-mail from an education major at Marist College. I imagine Ayers’ book is standard fare for legions of teachers-in-training:
I thought you would be interested to know that Marist College has a gradute course for education majors opening with William Ayers’ book “To Teach”. I am one of four students in the seminar and the professor last week made some disparaging remarks that the news media was portraying him as a terrorist. She tried to explain the “times” of the sixties as being radical and what Ayers did was not too uncommon during the civil rights campaign, and how he was a friend of Stokley Carmichael. When I asked how we could take the book, which is well written in it’s prose but very anti-system/anti-traditional with clear overtones that stigmatizes education in America as being designed for white suburbia, as being credible - she went into a convoluted answer that berated the right wing media.
Nevertheless, I didn’t press the issue too much as I have not been brainwashed by the main steam media into believing Obama’s relationship with Ayers is no big deal - but I do find her choice of books to be an unnecessary indoctrination on education majors who will be teaching future generations of young people. There are, without question, plenty of other well written books by credible authors that can easily replace Ayers’ book and I believe this is something Marist College should not condone as it sends a biased message from an author who committed violent crimes and doesn’t see America as a good place. How, therefore, can one take his viewpoint on how teachers should ‘teach’ children as being feasible?
Maybe this would be something you want to look into as to why the book is used for the course.

More schools to avoid: UNC-Chapel Hill. They heart The Unrepentant Terrorist.
Bill Ayers, the radical militant-turned-university professor whose ties to Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama are under scrutiny, is getting some support from faculty members across the country.
Professors from UNC-Chapel Hill are among the more than 3,200 educators who have signed an online petition in support of Ayers. More than a dozen signatories are from local universities here in the Triangle.
Lawrence Grossberg, a UNC communications studies professor, said he signed the petition because he believes Ayers should not be demonized for his actions 40 years ago. He said he also respects the work Ayers does now as an education professor at the University of Illinois-Chicago. Ayers is a school reform advocate who has written or edited more than a dozen books.
“He did break the law, and he was punished and he moved on,” Grossberg said. “He built an extraordinary life. He has become one of the leading scholars in the field of education. [People are] excoriating him for things he did 40 years ago and misrepresenting what he has done since, in order to make someone else suffer. That doesn’t seem very American to me.”
He wasn’t punished. And he hasn’t moved on.

Why I Can't Vote For Obama

Dear Friends,
A few months ago I was asked for my perspective on Obama, I sent out an email with a few points. With the election just around the corner I decided to complete my perspective. Those of you on my e-list have seen some of this before but it's worth repeating...
First I must say whoever wins the election will have my prayer support. Obama needs to be commended for his accomplishments but I need to explain why I will not be voting for him.
Many of my friends process their identity through their blackness. I process my identity through Christ. Being a Christian (a Christ follower) means He leads I follow. I can't dictate the terms He does because He is the leader.
I can't vote black because I am black; I have to vote Christian because that's who I am. Christian first, black second. Neither should anyone from the other ethnic groups vote because of ethnicity. 200 years from now I won't be asked if I was black or white. I will be asked if I knew Jesus and accepted Him as Lord and Savior.
In an election there are many issues to consider but when a society gets abortion, same-sex marriage, embryonic stem-cell research, human cloning to name a few, wrong economic concerns will soon not matter.
We need to follow Martin Luther King's words, don't judge someone by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I don't know Obama so all I can go off is his voting record. His voting record earned him the title of the most liberal senator in the US Senate in 2007.

To beat Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton as the most liberal senator, takes some doing. Obama accomplished this feat in 2 short years. I wonder what would happen to America if he had four years to work with.
There is a reason Planned Parenthood gives him a 100 % rating. There is a reason the homosexual community supports him. There is a reason Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Castro, Hamas etc. love him. There is a reason he said he would nominate liberal judges to the Supreme Court.
There is a reason he voted against the infanticide bill. There is a reason he voted No on the constitutional ban of same-sex marriage. There is a reason he voted No on banning partial birth abortion. There is a reason he voted No on confirming Justices Roberts and Alito. These two judges are conservatives and they have since overturned partial birth abortion. The same practice Obama wanted to continue.
Let's take a look at the practice he wanted to continue
The 5 Step Partial Birth Abortion procedures:
A. Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby's leg with forceps. (Remember this is a live baby)
B. The baby's leg is pulled out into the birth canal.
C. The abortionist delivers the baby's entire body, except for the head.
D. The abortionist jams scissors into the baby's skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole.
E. The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child's brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.
God help him. There is a reason Obama opposed the parental notification law.
Think about this: You can't give a kid an aspirin without parental notification but that same kid can have an abortion without parental notification. This is insane.
There is a reason he went to Jeremiah Wright's church for 20 years.
Obama tells us he has good judgment but he sat under Jeremiah Wright teaching for 20 years. Now he is condemning Wright's sermons. I wonder why now?
Obama said Jeremiah Wright led him to the Lord and discipled him. A disciple is one in training. Jesus told us in Matthew 28:19 - 20 'Go and make disciples of all nations.' This means reproduce yourself. Teach people to think like you, walk like you; talk like you believe what you believe etc. The question I have is what did Jeremiah Wright teach him?
Would you support a White President who went to a church which has tenets that said they have
a ...
1. Commitment to the White Community
2. Commitment to the White Family
3. Adherence to the White Work Ethic
4. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White Community.
5. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting White Institutions
6. Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System
7. Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System.
Would you support a President who went to a church like that?
Just change the word from white to black and you have the tenets of Obama's former church. If President Bush was a member of a church like this, he would be called a racist. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton would have been marching outside.
This kind of church is a racist church. Obama did not wake up after 20 years and just discovered he went to a racist church. The church can't be about race. Jesus did not come for any particular race. He came for the whole world.
A church can't have a value system based on race. The churches value system has to be based on biblical mandate. It does not matter if itʼs a white church or a black church it's still wrong. Anyone from either race that attends a church like this would never get my vote.
Obama's former Pastor Jeremiah Wright is a disciple of liberal theologian James Cone, author of the 1970 book A Black Theology of Liberation. Cone once wrote: 'Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him.
Cone is the man Obama's mentor looks up to. Does Obama believe this?
So what does all this mean for the nation?
In the past when the Lord brought someone with the beliefs of Obama to lead a nation it meant one thing - judgment.
Read 1 Samuel 8 when Israel asked for a king. First God says in 1 Samuel 1:9 'Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do.' Then God says 1 Samuel 1:18 ' When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day.' 19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. 'No!' they said. 'We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.' 21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the LORD. 22 The LORD answered, 'Listen to them and give them a king.'
Here is what we know for sure.
God is not schizophrenic
He would not tell one person to vote for Obama and one to vote for McCain. As the scripture says, a city divided against itself cannot stand, so obviously many people are not hearing from God.
Maybe I am the one not hearing but I know God does not change and Obama contradicts many things I read in scripture so I doubt it.
For all my friends who are voting for Obama can you really look God in the face and say; Father based on your word, I am voting for Obama even though I know he will continue the genocidal practice of partial birth abortion. He might have to nominate three or four Supreme Court justices, and I am sure he will be nominating liberal judges who will be making laws that are against you. I also know he will continue to push for homosexual rights, even though you destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for this. I know I can look the other way because of the economy.
I could not see Jesus agreeing with many of Obama's positions. Finally I have two questions for all my liberal friends.
Since we know someone's value system has to be placed on the nation,
1. Whose value system should be placed on the nation.
2. Who should determine that this is the right value system for the nation?

Ayers’ office door is decorated with pictures of Mumia Abu-Jamal, Che Guevara and Malcolm X. It is also home to pictures of children, bills of rights for students and parents, and a rainbow-hued greeting card advising “How to Be Really Alive.” A place of prominence is give to a New Yorker cartoon of a man interviewing for a job. The interviewer says, “I’m trying to find a way to balance your strengths against your felonies.”

In related Ayers’ news, read this e-mail from an education major at Marist College. I imagine Ayers’ book is standard fare for legions of teachers-in-training:
I thought you would be interested to know that Marist College has a gradute course for education majors opening with William Ayers’ book “To Teach”. I am one of four students in the seminar and the professor last week made some disparaging remarks that the news media was portraying him as a terrorist. She tried to explain the “times” of the sixties as being radical and what Ayers did was not too uncommon during the civil rights campaign, and how he was a friend of Stokley Carmichael. When I asked how we could take the book, which is well written in it’s prose but very anti-system/anti-traditional with clear overtones that stigmatizes education in America as being designed for white suburbia, as being credible - she went into a convoluted answer that berated the right wing media.
Nevertheless, I didn’t press the issue too much as I have not been brainwashed by the main steam media into believing Obama’s relationship with Ayers is no big deal - but I do find her choice of books to be an unnecessary indoctrination on education majors who will be teaching future generations of young people. There are, without question, plenty of other well written books by credible authors that can easily replace Ayers’ book and I believe this is something Marist College should not condone as it sends a biased message from an author who committed violent crimes and doesn’t see America as a good place. How, therefore, can one take his viewpoint on how teachers should ‘teach’ children as being feasible?
Maybe this would be something you want to look into as to why the book is used for the course.

More schools to avoid: UNC-Chapel Hill. They heart The Unrepentant Terrorist.
Bill Ayers, the radical militant-turned-university professor whose ties to Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama are under scrutiny, is getting some support from faculty members across the country.
Professors from UNC-Chapel Hill are among the more than 3,200 educators who have signed an online petition in support of Ayers. More than a dozen signatories are from local universities here in the Triangle.
Lawrence Grossberg, a UNC communications studies professor, said he signed the petition because he believes Ayers should not be demonized for his actions 40 years ago. He said he also respects the work Ayers does now as an education professor at the University of Illinois-Chicago. Ayers is a school reform advocate who has written or edited more than a dozen books.
“He did break the law, and he was punished and he moved on,” Grossberg said. “He built an extraordinary life. He has become one of the leading scholars in the field of education. [People are] excoriating him for things he did 40 years ago and misrepresenting what he has done since, in order to make someone else suffer. That doesn’t seem very American to me.”
He wasn’t punished. And he hasn’t moved on.

Why I Can't Vote For Obama

Dear Friends,
A few months ago I was asked for my perspective on Obama, I sent out an email with a few points. With the election just around the corner I decided to complete my perspective. Those of you on my e-list have seen some of this before but it's worth repeating...
First I must say whoever wins the election will have my prayer support. Obama needs to be commended for his accomplishments but I need to explain why I will not be voting for him.
Many of my friends process their identity through their blackness. I process my identity through Christ. Being a Christian (a Christ follower) means He leads I follow. I can't dictate the terms He does because He is the leader.
I can't vote black because I am black; I have to vote Christian because that's who I am. Christian first, black second. Neither should anyone from the other ethnic groups vote because of ethnicity. 200 years from now I won't be asked if I was black or white. I will be asked if I knew Jesus and accepted Him as Lord and Savior.
In an election there are many issues to consider but when a society gets abortion, same-sex marriage, embryonic stem-cell research, human cloning to name a few, wrong economic concerns will soon not matter.
We need to follow Martin Luther King's words, don't judge someone by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I don't know Obama so all I can go off is his voting record. His voting record earned him the title of the most liberal senator in the US Senate in 2007.

To beat Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton as the most liberal senator, takes some doing. Obama accomplished this feat in 2 short years. I wonder what would happen to America if he had four years to work with.
There is a reason Planned Parenthood gives him a 100 % rating. There is a reason the homosexual community supports him. There is a reason Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Castro, Hamas etc. love him. There is a reason he said he would nominate liberal judges to the Supreme Court.
There is a reason he voted against the infanticide bill. There is a reason he voted No on the constitutional ban of same-sex marriage. There is a reason he voted No on banning partial birth abortion. There is a reason he voted No on confirming Justices Roberts and Alito. These two judges are conservatives and they have since overturned partial birth abortion. The same practice Obama wanted to continue.
Let's take a look at the practice he wanted to continue
The 5 Step Partial Birth Abortion procedures:
A. Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby's leg with forceps. (Remember this is a live baby)
B. The baby's leg is pulled out into the birth canal.
C. The abortionist delivers the baby's entire body, except for the head.
D. The abortionist jams scissors into the baby's skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole.
E. The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child's brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.
God help him. There is a reason Obama opposed the parental notification law.
Think about this: You can't give a kid an aspirin without parental notification but that same kid can have an abortion without parental notification. This is insane.
There is a reason he went to Jeremiah Wright's church for 20 years.
Obama tells us he has good judgment but he sat under Jeremiah Wright teaching for 20 years. Now he is condemning Wright's sermons. I wonder why now?
Obama said Jeremiah Wright led him to the Lord and discipled him. A disciple is one in training. Jesus told us in Matthew 28:19 - 20 'Go and make disciples of all nations.' This means reproduce yourself. Teach people to think like you, walk like you; talk like you believe what you believe etc. The question I have is what did Jeremiah Wright teach him?
Would you support a White President who went to a church which has tenets that said they have
a ...
1. Commitment to the White Community
2. Commitment to the White Family
3. Adherence to the White Work Ethic
4. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White Community.
5. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting White Institutions
6. Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System
7. Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System.
Would you support a President who went to a church like that?
Just change the word from white to black and you have the tenets of Obama's former church. If President Bush was a member of a church like this, he would be called a racist. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton would have been marching outside.
This kind of church is a racist church. Obama did not wake up after 20 years and just discovered he went to a racist church. The church can't be about race. Jesus did not come for any particular race. He came for the whole world.
A church can't have a value system based on race. The churches value system has to be based on biblical mandate. It does not matter if itʼs a white church or a black church it's still wrong. Anyone from either race that attends a church like this would never get my vote.
Obama's former Pastor Jeremiah Wright is a disciple of liberal theologian James Cone, author of the 1970 book A Black Theology of Liberation. Cone once wrote: 'Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him.
Cone is the man Obama's mentor looks up to. Does Obama believe this?
So what does all this mean for the nation?
In the past when the Lord brought someone with the beliefs of Obama to lead a nation it meant one thing - judgment.
Read 1 Samuel 8 when Israel asked for a king. First God says in 1 Samuel 1:9 'Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do.' Then God says 1 Samuel 1:18 ' When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day.' 19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. 'No!' they said. 'We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.' 21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the LORD. 22 The LORD answered, 'Listen to them and give them a king.'
Here is what we know for sure.
God is not schizophrenic
He would not tell one person to vote for Obama and one to vote for McCain. As the scripture says, a city divided against itself cannot stand, so obviously many people are not hearing from God.
Maybe I am the one not hearing but I know God does not change and Obama contradicts many things I read in scripture so I doubt it.
For all my friends who are voting for Obama can you really look God in the face and say; Father based on your word, I am voting for Obama even though I know he will continue the genocidal practice of partial birth abortion. He might have to nominate three or four Supreme Court justices, and I am sure he will be nominating liberal judges who will be making laws that are against you. I also know he will continue to push for homosexual rights, even though you destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for this. I know I can look the other way because of the economy.
I could not see Jesus agreeing with many of Obama's positions. Finally I have two questions for all my liberal friends.
Since we know someone's value system has to be placed on the nation,
1. Whose value system should be placed on the nation.
2. Who should determine that this is the right value system for the nation?

As Barack Obama reaped a stunning $150 million in campaign donations in September, bringing his total to more than $600 million, new questions have arisen about the source of his amazing funding.
By Obama’s own admission, more than half of his contributions have come from small donors giving $200 or less. But unlike John McCain’s campaign, Obama won’t release the names of these donors.
A Newsmax canvass of disclosed Obama campaign donors shows worrisome anomalies, including outright violations of federal election laws.
For example, Obama has numerous donors who have contributed well over the $4,600 federal election limit.
Many of these donors have never been contacted by the Obama campaign to refund the excess amounts to them.
And more than 37,000 Obama donations appear to be conversions of foreign currency.

Informational - Educational - Where is the mainstream media?
Listening to the mainstream media these last few days I've learned a few things about the GOP's VP nominee but, I also had to learn a few things on my own.
1. From the media I learned Sarah Palin's husband had a DUI conviction 22 years ago.
* On my own I learned that Ted Kennedy, hero of last month's tribute at the DNC, was drunk while driving a car off a bridge in Chappaquiddick. That same crash killed a young campaign volunteer with whom he was having an affair. Oh, and that woman was pregnant with his child.
* Mr. Palin's (who is not running for office) DUI came a mere 4 years after Barack Obama (who is running for president) stopped using cocaine and marijuana (by his own admission in his autobiography). Shocking - it's OK for the presidential candidate to use drugs or the Dem. party patriarch to kill someone while driving drunk yet a VP candidate should be demonized for something her husband did 22 years ago.
2. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin's daughter is pregnant but not married.
* On my own I learned the Obama's mother was an unmarried street hippy in Honolulu, Hawaii, when she conceived Obama.
* On my own I learned that Joe Biden's (the other VP candidate) son was paid a large amount of money as a consultant to credit card company MBNA. That same company had business before Senator Joe Biden concerning regulation of consumer credit practices. After the company paid a hefty sum to Mr. Biden's son, he voted in favor of legislation to help that company. That same son, Hunter, is also engaged in a legal investigation and suit for defrauding a former business partner. Shocking - it's a crime for the republican VP candidate to have a daughter who's pregnant, even though it's irrelevant to how she performs her job, but it's ok that the democrat presidential candidate's mother conceived him out of wedlock. It's ok, also, for the democrat senator VP candidate to vote in favor of a company that paid his son over a quarter of a million dollars.
3. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin should be considered "selfish" for agreeing to run for VP knowing about her daughter's condition. Knowing that her public role would bring extra scrutiny on the family is selfish and she should have declined in order to protect her child (actually heard this on ABC last weekend).
* Strange - the same people who say Sarah is selfish for running for VP did not seem to care about any impact on Chelsea when Bill Clinton had his dalliance with Monica Lewinsky. That was a private, personal matter you see.
4. From the media I have learned to be "concerned" that Sarah Palin probably won't be able to manage her family and do an effective job of being VP at the same time.
* Funny - I never heard anything about Hillary's ability to support Chelsea while re-doing healthcare or anything from the feminist icons who say you can balance work and family. They also never mention that Barack will have to balance time with his children while meeting with heads of rogue nations or how Joe Biden's kids don't even have a mom and will be fighting for his time while he hosts White House coffee fundraisers and sells nights in the Lincoln bedroom.
5. From the media I have learned that Sarah Palin is "too inexperienced" to be a heartbeat-away from the presidency.
* Apparently taking on corruption in your own party and running a state that's the same size, people-wise, as Delaware (hint hint: that's where Joe Biden is from) is not really experience.
* However, time spent as a "community organizer" and less than 180 days in the senate where you've authored NO significant legislation is just the type of "change" we're looking for from the top of the ticket.
* Funny - inexperience at the top of the ticket is a mantra for "change" and "hope" while strong practical everyday experience, as the #2 is cause for concern.
6. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin's husband once got a ticket for fishing without a license.
* I haven't heard much about the fact that if he were still a practicing attorney, the VP candidate Joe Biden would be disbarred for plagiarism not once but multiple times. It's ok to break the rules if you' re a democrat candidate but not Ok if you are the spouse of a republican candidate.
7. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin doesn't know much about Iraq; in fact we wonder if she even knows where it is.
* Sarah's son volunteered for the US military and is now deployed in Iraq. I guess that doesn't count. Sarah has spent more time with troops in Iraq (as commander of the Alaska National Guard she visited Iraq last year) than Obama has even while running for president. In fact, when Sarah went to Iraq she spent time with the troops. When Obama went there, he skipped a base visit to instead go work out at the Ritz Carlton.
8. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin is a "lightweight" and she better be a "quick study" to keep up with this team.
* Funny, nobody is talking about how, after Barack Obama had "visited 57 states" according to him he only had "5 more to go" or endless other stupid gaffes that expose who he really is.
9. From the media I have learned that (gasp!), Sarah Palin's husband was once a registered member of a 3rd party that favored states' rights (man, this is really bad stuff).
* That same media has been silent to the story that when Barack Obama announced his first senate run, he did so in the home of William Ayers. Mr. Ayers is an un-repentant terrorist convicted for bombing the pentagon. This same Mr. Ayers said on 9/11 that he and his group did not do enough to harm our military and he wished he had done more. During the same time as that comment, he was serving on a board with Barack Obama. All notes and information about their serving together is now locked up by the corrupt Chicago machine and reporter access to those records are being blocked by the Obama campaign.
If we've had any doubts about the bias of the media, it's pretty clear now where they stand. Pass this on to your friends, some of whom may still be on the fence and/or may be getting all of their liberal-biased news/opinions from Katie Couric, Wolf Blitzer, Tom Brokaw and the gang. This is egregious and corrupt. The only way to stop it is to spread information using other outlets and make these guys irrelevant.
Take Down the Bird Feeder
I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. I filled it lovingly and thought, 'What a beautiful bird feeder this is.' Within a week, hundreds of birds took advantage
of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.
But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue.Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table...
everywhere! Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb at me and even tried to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket.
Others birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed all hours of the day and night. They demanded that I fill it when it got too low on food.
After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch any more. So I took down the bird feeder, and the birds were gone in three days. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio.
Soon, the back yard was like it used to be... quiet, serene, and no one demanded their rights to a free meal.Now, let's see... Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen.
Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes increased to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an
emergency room doctor; your child's 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn't speak English.
Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to 'Press one' to hear my bank talk to me in English; and people who wave flags other than 'Old Glory' are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties.
This is just my opinion, but maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder. If you agree, pass it on; if not, continue cleaning up the poop!

As Barack Obama reaped a stunning $150 million in campaign donations in September, bringing his total to more than $600 million, new questions have arisen about the source of his amazing funding.
By Obama’s own admission, more than half of his contributions have come from small donors giving $200 or less. But unlike John McCain’s campaign, Obama won’t release the names of these donors.
A Newsmax canvass of disclosed Obama campaign donors shows worrisome anomalies, including outright violations of federal election laws.
For example, Obama has numerous donors who have contributed well over the $4,600 federal election limit.
Many of these donors have never been contacted by the Obama campaign to refund the excess amounts to them.
And more than 37,000 Obama donations appear to be conversions of foreign currency.

Informational - Educational - Where is the mainstream media?
Listening to the mainstream media these last few days I've learned a few things about the GOP's VP nominee but, I also had to learn a few things on my own.
1. From the media I learned Sarah Palin's husband had a DUI conviction 22 years ago.
* On my own I learned that Ted Kennedy, hero of last month's tribute at the DNC, was drunk while driving a car off a bridge in Chappaquiddick. That same crash killed a young campaign volunteer with whom he was having an affair. Oh, and that woman was pregnant with his child.
* Mr. Palin's (who is not running for office) DUI came a mere 4 years after Barack Obama (who is running for president) stopped using cocaine and marijuana (by his own admission in his autobiography). Shocking - it's OK for the presidential candidate to use drugs or the Dem. party patriarch to kill someone while driving drunk yet a VP candidate should be demonized for something her husband did 22 years ago.
2. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin's daughter is pregnant but not married.
* On my own I learned the Obama's mother was an unmarried street hippy in Honolulu, Hawaii, when she conceived Obama.
* On my own I learned that Joe Biden's (the other VP candidate) son was paid a large amount of money as a consultant to credit card company MBNA. That same company had business before Senator Joe Biden concerning regulation of consumer credit practices. After the company paid a hefty sum to Mr. Biden's son, he voted in favor of legislation to help that company. That same son, Hunter, is also engaged in a legal investigation and suit for defrauding a former business partner. Shocking - it's a crime for the republican VP candidate to have a daughter who's pregnant, even though it's irrelevant to how she performs her job, but it's ok that the democrat presidential candidate's mother conceived him out of wedlock. It's ok, also, for the democrat senator VP candidate to vote in favor of a company that paid his son over a quarter of a million dollars.
3. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin should be considered "selfish" for agreeing to run for VP knowing about her daughter's condition. Knowing that her public role would bring extra scrutiny on the family is selfish and she should have declined in order to protect her child (actually heard this on ABC last weekend).
* Strange - the same people who say Sarah is selfish for running for VP did not seem to care about any impact on Chelsea when Bill Clinton had his dalliance with Monica Lewinsky. That was a private, personal matter you see.
4. From the media I have learned to be "concerned" that Sarah Palin probably won't be able to manage her family and do an effective job of being VP at the same time.
* Funny - I never heard anything about Hillary's ability to support Chelsea while re-doing healthcare or anything from the feminist icons who say you can balance work and family. They also never mention that Barack will have to balance time with his children while meeting with heads of rogue nations or how Joe Biden's kids don't even have a mom and will be fighting for his time while he hosts White House coffee fundraisers and sells nights in the Lincoln bedroom.
5. From the media I have learned that Sarah Palin is "too inexperienced" to be a heartbeat-away from the presidency.
* Apparently taking on corruption in your own party and running a state that's the same size, people-wise, as Delaware (hint hint: that's where Joe Biden is from) is not really experience.
* However, time spent as a "community organizer" and less than 180 days in the senate where you've authored NO significant legislation is just the type of "change" we're looking for from the top of the ticket.
* Funny - inexperience at the top of the ticket is a mantra for "change" and "hope" while strong practical everyday experience, as the #2 is cause for concern.
6. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin's husband once got a ticket for fishing without a license.
* I haven't heard much about the fact that if he were still a practicing attorney, the VP candidate Joe Biden would be disbarred for plagiarism not once but multiple times. It's ok to break the rules if you' re a democrat candidate but not Ok if you are the spouse of a republican candidate.
7. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin doesn't know much about Iraq; in fact we wonder if she even knows where it is.
* Sarah's son volunteered for the US military and is now deployed in Iraq. I guess that doesn't count. Sarah has spent more time with troops in Iraq (as commander of the Alaska National Guard she visited Iraq last year) than Obama has even while running for president. In fact, when Sarah went to Iraq she spent time with the troops. When Obama went there, he skipped a base visit to instead go work out at the Ritz Carlton.
8. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin is a "lightweight" and she better be a "quick study" to keep up with this team.
* Funny, nobody is talking about how, after Barack Obama had "visited 57 states" according to him he only had "5 more to go" or endless other stupid gaffes that expose who he really is.
9. From the media I have learned that (gasp!), Sarah Palin's husband was once a registered member of a 3rd party that favored states' rights (man, this is really bad stuff).
* That same media has been silent to the story that when Barack Obama announced his first senate run, he did so in the home of William Ayers. Mr. Ayers is an un-repentant terrorist convicted for bombing the pentagon. This same Mr. Ayers said on 9/11 that he and his group did not do enough to harm our military and he wished he had done more. During the same time as that comment, he was serving on a board with Barack Obama. All notes and information about their serving together is now locked up by the corrupt Chicago machine and reporter access to those records are being blocked by the Obama campaign.
If we've had any doubts about the bias of the media, it's pretty clear now where they stand. Pass this on to your friends, some of whom may still be on the fence and/or may be getting all of their liberal-biased news/opinions from Katie Couric, Wolf Blitzer, Tom Brokaw and the gang. This is egregious and corrupt. The only way to stop it is to spread information using other outlets and make these guys irrelevant.
Take Down the Bird Feeder
I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. I filled it lovingly and thought, 'What a beautiful bird feeder this is.' Within a week, hundreds of birds took advantage
of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.
But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue.Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table...
everywhere! Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb at me and even tried to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket.
Others birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed all hours of the day and night. They demanded that I fill it when it got too low on food.
After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch any more. So I took down the bird feeder, and the birds were gone in three days. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio.
Soon, the back yard was like it used to be... quiet, serene, and no one demanded their rights to a free meal.Now, let's see... Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen.
Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes increased to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an
emergency room doctor; your child's 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn't speak English.
Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to 'Press one' to hear my bank talk to me in English; and people who wave flags other than 'Old Glory' are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties.
This is just my opinion, but maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder. If you agree, pass it on; if not, continue cleaning up the poop!

A pro-family organization says it's had an overwhelming negative response to a poll that asks the question: "Do you think Barack Obama is qualified to serve as president of the United States?"
The American Family Association (AFA) created the online poll in response to PBS, which is running a taxpayer-funded poll that asks a similar question regarding the Republican vice-presidential nominee: "Do you think Sarah Palin is qualified to serve as vice-president of the United States?" Dr. Donald E. Wildmon, founder and chairman of AFA, further explains the situation.
"I mean, if they're going to run a poll one way, we run a poll the other way. Well over 300,000 people have voted in our poll that [Obama] is not qualified [to be president]. I think [several thousand have] voted that he is qualified," he says. "The poll was a comeback [to the] PBS [poll]."
Who do YOU think is more qualified to serve in the office they seek --Sen. Obama or Gov. Palin?

Recently I read about the ACLU is trying to sue the US Naval Academy to stop them from praying to God. Here is what I sent them.
Exercise of our 1st Amendment Rights (responsible freedoms) especially freedom of expression, even religious expressions that are respectful of others, even as Government employees, and even while on Government tax-payer-funded property (if we are not wasting Government time, money or resources), doesn't depend on whether or not others believe or agree with our expressions, even if they are in management positions, or even if they are atheists, even if our good natured expressions cause them to feel bad. Furthermore, if upper level managers allow our religious expressions and public prayers, that should never be construed as State or Corporate "endorsement" of a particular religion.
Jefferson's "Wall of Separation of Church and State" was only intended to separate the "administration" of religion and politics, not to separate God's moral influences from our Government leaders' hearts nor from our legislative process. The only "wall of separation" in America should be between our government (State/Federal/local) and the ACLU (Atheists, Communists, Liberals United).
Most Americans oppose immoral acts, not because of fear (phobias), but because we love the heritage produced by high moral standards. Besides, immoral acts are not included in our 1st Amendment freedom ofexpression; only verbal and written expressions.
Just because people get angry and react negatively against our Bible-based religious expressions and to our peaceful resistance to their immorality, that doesn't mean they are right; but it means they are wrong and don't like the feeling of being wrong. My dad had a saying for people like this (and so-called "atheists" like Mike Newdow, who are "infuriated" with the phrase "One Nation under God" in our Pledge of allegiance). "They are stewing in their own juice." Even the devil and his demons are not atheists; they "believe and tremble" (James 2:19) at the name of Jesus Christ, because they recognize the power in His name. That is why the ACLU doesn't want anyone in our government to pray "in Jesus' name" or on public property.
If you study the Hebrew and Greek words translated "worship" in the Bible, it is easy to see that there is no such thing as an atheist. Everyone has gods and idols (lusts, fears, accomplishments and visual images) they worship and submit to daily. When people admire and submit to the life of love and holiness demonstrated by Jesus Christ, they worshipping the true God.
Our great country of USA was established over 230 years ago by Government leaders who believed the Bible, and were thus motivated by God to leave tyrannical (religious-controlled government and government-controlled religion) and immoral influences in Europe and England, and to separate themselves by 3,000 miles of water. America is like the second Canaan Land. The only way we can maintain the wonderful heritage God enabled us to establish by His divine influence in our Founders' hearts, is for current Government leaders to keep God's influence in their hearts.

Now, states’ legislators, lawmakers on Capitol Hill, Organized Labor, the AFL-CIO, United Auto Workers (UAW), United Steelworkers of America (USW), National Education Association (NEA), and others have all but destroyed many in Manufacturing, our educational social system, and many other vocations within America’s culture.
In the earlier days, Organized Labor began as an effort to provide descent wages in America. Unions grew as America grew, more jobs, and issues grew. With growth, came efforts to provide added agreement benefits for working Americans. Oh, how changes have evolved! In the last five decades, organized labor, with the help of many state legislators, and Capitol Hill Lawmakers, many new laws have been prescribed as economic treatments. Added legislation brings added costs into America’s products’ marketplace. These added costs have created goods becoming excessively expensive, while an imported item is more economical. American consumers have discovered they can find equal or better quality products manufactured elsewhere.
America’s Big Three automakers and other companies within our economy are in a crisis. The rejection of a bailout and/or loan to GM, Ford, and Chrysler is the result of UAW leaders and memberships refusal to trim employee cost and benefits cost of $141M annually and more. Dr. Mark J. New testimony obtained by a consumer advocate group from former employees of ACORN paints a startling picture of the apparent misuse of taxpayer dollars to further the group’s left-wing political agenda.
Four former employees of ACORN and of ACORN Housing Corp. have supplied sworn affidavits to the Consumer Rights League that provide eyewitness accounts of how the two organizations have commingled funds and resources, in apparent violation of federal law.
The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) bills itself as a non-partisan group, supported by tax-exempt contributions from individuals and corporations.
The ACORN Housing Corp. (AHC), an ACORN affiliate, receives more than 40 percent of its funding from government sources, ostensibly to promote affordable housing to low- and middle-income families.
But according to CRL, internal documents obtained from whistleblowers suggest that ACORN has failed to maintain the proper distinction between its tax-exempt housing work and its aggressive political activities.
“ACORN and its offshoots take in millions of dollars in government grants under the guise of ‘consumer advocacy’ to line their own pockets,” said Jim Terry, CRL’s chief public advocate.
The new testimony, from four former ACORN and AHC employees, provides “hard confirmation” that ACORN and its affiliate are in fact one in the same, Terry told Newsmax.
“Here are people who have been in the room, testifying to the criminal intent of the people involved” in shuffling ACORN resources from tax-exempt purposes to political activities, he said.
“Everything they do and say, with the exception of filing their government reports, treats this family of organizations as one cohesive unit. They operated as one organization, controlled from the top down,” Terry said.
One former employee, who was with ACORN for six years, including in a management position, testified that she has “knowledge that AHC has subsidized and believe that AHC continues to subsidize ACORN activities,” in apparent violation of the law.
“AHC subsidies to ACORN include office telephone service, fax, supplies and rental space paid for by AHC funds,” she added.
In addition, AHC management routinely treated federal grants as money that could be shared with ACORN, Terry told Newsmax.
“Between 2004 through 2006, AHC transferred $4.6 million to ACORN in grants and fees, according to their tax returns. This is inherently wrong.”
Since 40 percent of AHC funds came from government grants, that means that U.S. taxpayers were in effect paying for ACORN’s partisan political activities, he added.
AHC required employees to “solicit funds and cash from clients and real estate professionals to pay for AHC operations,” one of the whistleblowers said, detailing what amounted to a “shakedown” operation.
Another former AHC employee said he would testify in court to the fact that “AHC and ACORN have operated as one entity,” and quoted internal e-mails detailing how federal grants were shared between the organizations.
The whistleblowers also stated that:
AHC employees were instructed to hide documents from federal auditors with the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
AHC employees were instructed on “steering” loans to partner banks, including Chase (for loans in the New Orleans area) and Bank of America for other areas around the country.
AHC National Field Director Lee Trujillo stated in the presence of several of these witnesses that
“AHC and ACORN would be funded out of the same account.”
AHC and ACORN have also shared “voter initiative money.”
Internal AHC e-mails and other documents “clearly show that AHC is paying for lease space occupied by ACORN.”
All of these are potential violations of the laws governing non-profit organizations.
ACORN is currently under investigation for fraudulent voter registration and related activities in at least 11 key battleground states.
Election officials in several states have said that 50 percent of ACORN voter registrations are fictitious.
Just last week, for example, ACORN’s offices in Nevada were raided by state law enforcement officials after reports that ACORN had registered the starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys to vote in Las Vegas.
In Connecticut, a 7-year-old girl was found to have been registered to vote by ACORN, which changed her age to 27.
ACORN announced last week that it had just completed “the largest, most successful nonpartisan voter registration drive in U.S. history,” by helping “1.3 million low-income, minority and young voters across the country register to vote.”
The group insisted that the allegations of voter fraud are “bogus,” and “aim to camouflage voter suppression,” a term used by many groups on the left to describe alleged police roadblocks in black neighborhoods in Florida during the 2000 campaign.
Despite a two-year investigation by the U.S. Civil Rights Commission under the direction of Jesse Jackson protégé Mary Frances Berry, not a single eyewitness stepped forward who could corroborate the allegations of voter suppression or police roadblocks in Florida during that election.
ACORN has paid more than 13,000 workers to sign up new voters this election season, and admits that “there are always some people who want to get paid without really doing the job.”
In any large voter registration operation, ACORN said last week, there will always be “a small percentage of workers who turn in bogus registration forms.” But discrepancies in voter registration documents “has nothing to do with ‘voter fraud,’” the group insisted.
AHC gets U.S. government grants to provide free advice and counseling services to low and mid-income consumers on how to qualify for a mortgage.
In the advice it offers consumers, AHC warns about “predatory” lending. And yet, CRL alleges in a report issued earlier this year that AHC engages in many of the same practices it condemns.
“ACORN’s ‘financial justice’ operations attack lenders for ‘exotic’ loans, but AHC has recommended ten-year interest-only loans (which deny equity to the buyer) and reverse mortgages (which can be detrimental to senior citizens),” the report states.
AHC also has worked to obtain mortgages for undocumented workers, and has advised intake officers to counsel consumers how to use “under the table” income not reported to the Internal Revenue Service in order to increase their borrowing ability.
ACORN has devoted $50 million to Project Vote activities in the current election cycle, primarily to register minority and low-income voters.
Barack Obama ran the Chicago branch of Project Vote in 1992, and soon afterwards began teaching classes for “Future Leaders Identified by ACORN.”
In 1995, Obama represented ACORN in a lawsuit against the state of Illinois for its supposed failure to implement the new “motor voter” law, the first piece of legislation signed by Bill Clinton after he became president in 1993.
In a statement now immortalized in a YouTube video, Obama promised ACORN and other community organizations in an Iowa presidential campaign forum for Democrats in December 2007 that if elected president, he would bring them into the White House to help shape the agenda of an Obama administration.
“[B]efore I even get inaugurated, during the transition, we're going to be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda. We're going to be having meetings all across the country with community organizations so that you have input into the agenda for the next presidency of the United States of America,” Obama pledged.
ACORN endorsed Obama on Feb. 21, 2008, at the most critical point of the tough primary battle that pitted him against Hillary Clinton. Welcoming that endorsement, Obama said, “I’ve been fighting alongside ACORN on issues that you care about my entire career.”
But now that ACORN’s alleged voter fraud activities have become public, the Illinois senator has sought to distance himself from ACORN, just as he has from other former allies, such as the Rev. Jeremiah Wright or former wanted terrorist William Ayers.
His “fight the smears” Web site now has a statement claiming that “ACORN never hired Obama as a trainer, organizer, or any type of employee,” but acknowledged that he was hired by the organization in the 1995 lawsuit.
“Obama’s failure to disclose the true nature of his relationship with ACORN is very surprising and deeply troubling,” the John McCain campaign said in a press release last week.

The memo was prepared by the head of Odinga's campaign finance accounting section, Shakeel Shabbir, as an official report delivered to the national treasurer for Odinga's Orange Democratic Movement party, or ODM.
Among the 72 individuals and organizations that contributed money to Odinga's 2007 presidential run in Kenya, Shabbir lists "Friends of Senator B.O." as having donated 66,000,000 Kenyan schillings, about $950,000.
Saif el-Islam Gadhafi, the Libyan strongman's second oldest son, reportedly donated 53,450,000 Kenyan schillings, about $765,000.
According to several highly credible ex-ODM sources WND interviewed in Kenya, the $950,000 raised for Odinga's campaign came from a series of private meetings arranged for Odinga by Mark Lippert, a foreign policy adviser in Obama's U.S. Senate office. The meetings with top-dollar Obama fundraisers and donors took place during Odinga's 2006 trip to the U.S.

If you are surprised when you look at these figures, so was I.These figures mean that the loss from the two latest conflicts in the Middle East are LESS than the loss of military personnel during Bill Clinton's presidency; when America wasn't even involved in a war!
And, I was even more shocked when I read that in 1980, during the reign of President (Nobel Peace Prize winner) Jimmy Carter, there were 2,392 US military fatalities! I think that these figures indicate that many members of our Media and our Politicians will pick and choose the information on which they report. Of course we all know that they present only those 'facts which support their agenda-driven reporting. But why do so many of them march in lock-step to twist the truth? Where do so many of them get their marching-orders for their agenda?

I was surprised again... until it became clear to me that the point here is that our mainstream media continues to spin these figures (for political gain). Nothing more!!!
It's all about politics and some politicians, are now famous for turning American against American for a vote. Consider Hillary Clinton's stump speech after her Super Tuesday 'victory' stating that the current administration does not listen' to anyone and continues the war costing precious American lives. Yes I might even agree with her, but she should be made to acknowledge her own husband's administration, without having an actual war, sent more soldiers to death during his presidency, and is on record of forcing the military to release Osama when we actually had him detained at the time I am not suggesting that any particular political party is necessarily right, there is a lot wrong. But, I hope that during the time between now and November, that intelligent Americans can decipher the facts from the spin and the spinners from the leaders; those who seek even more power from those that seek justice, the dividers from the uniters.
Over the next days let's be good listeners and see and hear who really tries to divide our nation; and who wants to unite our nation. Who wants to control how our money is spent and who wants our money spent the way we would spend it. Who seeks power and who seeks justice? Who spins the facts and who is genuine. (Very few are on both sides)

A Trillion-Dollar boost to our struggling Economy- ANWR
At a world oil price above $100 per barrel, the mean expectation for the federal and non-federal ANWR oil reserves is a gross cumulative market value of more than $1 trillion-some experts say $1.5 to $2 Trillion.
It might cost $20 to $30 per barrel to produce the ANWR oil, but the net revenues (after costs) would still be greater than $700 billion (and could turn out to be much higher, depending on the future price of oil). To put this in perspective, the United States could have paid for the entire Iraq war to date with the future oil revenues obtainable from ANWR. Or the U.S. could pay for the entire Defense Department budget for one year.

New testimony obtained by a consumer advocate group from former employees of ACORN paints a startling picture of the apparent misuse of taxpayer dollars to further the group’s left-wing political agenda.
Four former employees of ACORN and of ACORN Housing Corp. have supplied sworn affidavits to the Consumer Rights League that provide eyewitness accounts of how the two organizations have commingled funds and resources, in apparent violation of federal law.
The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) bills itself as a non-partisan group, supported by tax-exempt contributions from individuals and corporations.
The ACORN Housing Corp. (AHC), an ACORN affiliate, receives more than 40 percent of its funding from government sources, ostensibly to promote affordable housing to low- and middle-income families.
But according to CRL, internal documents obtained from whistleblowers suggest that ACORN has failed to maintain the proper distinction between its tax-exempt housing work and its aggressive political activities.
“ACORN and its offshoots take in millions of dollars in government grants under the guise of ‘consumer advocacy’ to line their own pockets,” said Jim Terry, CRL’s chief public advocate.
The new testimony, from four former ACORN and AHC employees, provides “hard confirmation” that ACORN and its affiliate are in fact one in the same, Terry told Newsmax.
“Here are people who have been in the room, testifying to the criminal intent of the people involved” in shuffling ACORN resources from tax-exempt purposes to political activities, he said.
“Everything they do and say, with the exception of filing their government reports, treats this family of organizations as one cohesive unit. They operated as one organization, controlled from the top down,” Terry said.
One former employee, who was with ACORN for six years, including in a management position, testified that she has “knowledge that AHC has subsidized and believe that AHC continues to subsidize ACORN activities,” in apparent violation of the law.
“AHC subsidies to ACORN include office telephone service, fax, supplies and rental space paid for by AHC funds,” she added.
In addition, AHC management routinely treated federal grants as money that could be shared with ACORN, Terry told Newsmax.
“Between 2004 through 2006, AHC transferred $4.6 million to ACORN in grants and fees, according to their tax returns. This is inherently wrong.”
Since 40 percent of AHC funds came from government grants, that means that U.S. taxpayers were in effect paying for ACORN’s partisan political activities, he added.
AHC required employees to “solicit funds and cash from clients and real estate professionals to pay for AHC operations,” one of the whistleblowers said, detailing what amounted to a “shakedown” operation.
Another former AHC employee said he would testify in court to the fact that “AHC and ACORN have operated as one entity,” and quoted internal e-mails detailing how federal grants were shared between the organizations.
The whistleblowers also stated that:
AHC employees were instructed to hide documents from federal auditors with the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
AHC employees were instructed on “steering” loans to partner banks, including Chase (for loans in the New Orleans area) and Bank of America for other areas around the country.
AHC National Field Director Lee Trujillo stated in the presence of several of these witnesses that
“AHC and ACORN would be funded out of the same account.”
AHC and ACORN have also shared “voter initiative money.”
Internal AHC e-mails and other documents “clearly show that AHC is paying for lease space occupied by ACORN.”
All of these are potential violations of the laws governing non-profit organizations.
ACORN is currently under investigation for fraudulent voter registration and related activities in at least 11 key battleground states.
Election officials in several states have said that 50 percent of ACORN voter registrations are fictitious.
Just last week, for example, ACORN’s offices in Nevada were raided by state law enforcement officials after reports that ACORN had registered the starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys to vote in Las Vegas.
In Connecticut, a 7-year-old girl was found to have been registered to vote by ACORN, which changed her age to 27.
ACORN announced last week that it had just completed “the largest, most successful nonpartisan voter registration drive in U.S. history,” by helping “1.3 million low-income, minority and young voters across the country register to vote.”
The group insisted that the allegations of voter fraud are “bogus,” and “aim to camouflage voter suppression,” a term used by many groups on the left to describe alleged police roadblocks in black neighborhoods in Florida during the 2000 campaign.
Despite a two-year investigation by the U.S. Civil Rights Commission under the direction of Jesse Jackson protégé Mary Frances Berry, not a single eyewitness stepped forward who could corroborate the allegations of voter suppression or police roadblocks in Florida during that election.
ACORN has paid more than 13,000 workers to sign up new voters this election season, and admits that “there are always some people who want to get paid without really doing the job.”
In any large voter registration operation, ACORN said last week, there will always be “a small percentage of workers who turn in bogus registration forms.” But discrepancies in voter registration documents “has nothing to do with ‘voter fraud,’” the group insisted.
AHC gets U.S. government grants to provide free advice and counseling services to low and mid-income consumers on how to qualify for a mortgage.
In the advice it offers consumers, AHC warns about “predatory” lending. And yet, CRL alleges in a report issued earlier this year that AHC engages in many of the same practices it condemns.
“ACORN’s ‘financial justice’ operations attack lenders for ‘exotic’ loans, but AHC has recommended ten-year interest-only loans (which deny equity to the buyer) and reverse mortgages (which can be detrimental to senior citizens),” the report states.
AHC also has worked to obtain mortgages for undocumented workers, and has advised intake officers to counsel consumers how to use “under the table” income not reported to the Internal Revenue Service in order to increase their borrowing ability.
ACORN has devoted $50 million to Project Vote activities in the current election cycle, primarily to register minority and low-income voters.
Barack Obama ran the Chicago branch of Project Vote in 1992, and soon afterwards began teaching classes for “Future Leaders Identified by ACORN.”
In 1995, Obama represented ACORN in a lawsuit against the state of Illinois for its supposed failure to implement the new “motor voter” law, the first piece of legislation signed by Bill Clinton after he became president in 1993.
In a statement now immortalized in a YouTube video, Obama promised ACORN and other community organizations in an Iowa presidential campaign forum for Democrats in December 2007 that if elected president, he would bring them into the White House to help shape the agenda of an Obama administration.
“[B]efore I even get inaugurated, during the transition, we're going to be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda. We're going to be having meetings all across the country with community organizations so that you have input into the agenda for the next presidency of the United States of America,” Obama pledged.
ACORN endorsed Obama on Feb. 21, 2008, at the most critical point of the tough primary battle that pitted him against Hillary Clinton. Welcoming that endorsement, Obama said, “I’ve been fighting alongside ACORN on issues that you care about my entire career.”
But now that ACORN’s alleged voter fraud activities have become public, the Illinois senator has sought to distance himself from ACORN, just as he has from other former allies, such as the Rev. Jeremiah Wright or former wanted terrorist William Ayers.
His “fight the smears” Web site now has a statement claiming that “ACORN never hired Obama as a trainer, organizer, or any type of employee,” but acknowledged that he was hired by the organization in the 1995 lawsuit.
“Obama’s failure to disclose the true nature of his relationship with ACORN is very surprising and deeply troubling,” the John McCain campaign said in a press release last week.

The memo was prepared by the head of Odinga's campaign finance accounting section, Shakeel Shabbir, as an official report delivered to the national treasurer for Odinga's Orange Democratic Movement party, or ODM.
Among the 72 individuals and organizations that contributed money to Odinga's 2007 presidential run in Kenya, Shabbir lists "Friends of Senator B.O." as having donated 66,000,000 Kenyan schillings, about $950,000.
Saif el-Islam Gadhafi, the Libyan strongman's second oldest son, reportedly donated 53,450,000 Kenyan schillings, about $765,000.
According to several highly credible ex-ODM sources WND interviewed in Kenya, the $950,000 raised for Odinga's campaign came from a series of private meetings arranged for Odinga by Mark Lippert, a foreign policy adviser in Obama's U.S. Senate office. The meetings with top-dollar Obama fundraisers and donors took place during Odinga's 2006 trip to the U.S.

CNN’s Lou Dobbs is outraged that the Obama campaign is funding ACORN’s fraudulent registration efforts this fall. In Cleveland, OH, a young black man named Freddie Johnson registered to vote 72 times in return for money and cigarettes.
In York, PA, a part time ACORN worker was arrested for registering to vote 100 times.
In one Indiana County, 50% of the ACORN ballots had to be thrown out for being fraudulent.
On CNN, one woman admitted to registering 12 times. She said they encouraged her to register again, even though she was previously registered by others.
Barack Obama’s campaign paid ACORN $800,000 for voter registrations. Many of these registrations have been fraudulent and Americans need to know about that. Registering dead people, registering Batman, and registering people that live at McDonald’s is a sick way to win this election. Let’s hope the FBI rushes to stop this garbage before election day.

School Field Trip to Teacher's Lesbian Wedding Sparks Controversy

First-graders in San Francisco took a field trip to City Hall to celebrate the marriage of their lesbian teacher on Friday, but opponents of same-sex marriage in the state say the field trip was an attempt to “indoctrinate” the students, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
The field trip was suggested by a parent at the Creative Arts Charter School, and the school said the trip, where students tossed rose petals on their teacher and her wife as they left City Hall, was academically relevant.
"It really is what we call a teachable moment," said Liz Jaroslow, the school’s interim director, according to the newspaper. She said same-sex marriage had historic significance. "I think I'm well within the parameters."
California will vote on Nov. 4 on Proposition 8 which seeks to ban same-sex marriage in the state, and supporters of the measure say the field trip shows that allowing same-sex marriage will mean it’s taught to school children, the newspaper said.
"It's just utterly unreasonable that a public school field trip would be to a same-sex wedding," said Chip White, press secretary for the Yes on 8 campaign, told the Chronicle. "This is overt indoctrination of children who are too young to have an understanding of its purpose."
