"Daily Motivations"

Remember, no one can make you feel inferior without your consent. --Eleanor Roosevelt

"Daily Devotions" (KJV and/or NLT)

"It is actually best for you that I go away, because if I don't, the Counselor won't come. If I do go away, He will come because I will send Him to you." (John 16:7)

Jesus was fully God and fully human, Jesus lived among us and demonstrated through His life and teachings just how we are supposed to live. He was the Word of God made flesh. Then, on the cross where men crucified Him, He paid the penalty for our sins. He took on our punishment so that we might be spared to enjoy eternal life and an intimate relationship with Him. He rose from the dead as the "first fruit" of this new order, just as we, too, will rise again.

Then something incredible and marvelous happened. When Jesus returned to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father, He made a way to remain among us as long as we live on this earth. He released the Holy Spirit to come and live inside each one of His followers. In that way, we have the mind and the spirit of God within us.

That is why Jesus told His disciples that it was better for them that He leave this world. They had only enjoyed His presence among them physically. Now and for all time, He is among us in the deepest and most powerful way, living within us. We have Jesus' counsel, comfort, and friendship with us wherever we go, and no one can ever take it away. The Bible tells us this is a preview, a foretaste, of the wonderful fellowship that lies ahead of us when we join Him in eternity.

"The Patriot Post"

"As on the one hand, the necessity for borrowing in particular emergencies cannot be doubted, so on the other, it is equally evident that to be able to borrow upon good terms, it is essential that the credit of a nation should be well established." -- Alexander Hamilton

THE DEMO-GOGUES

Belly laugh of the week: "Consistent with the goal of clearly limiting the government's role as a reluctant equity owner but careful steward of taxpayer resources, the Obama Administration has established four core principles that will guide the government's management of ownership interests in private firms." -- White House press release on GM's bankruptcy **"Limiting the government" and "Obama administration" don't belong in the same sentence.

And repeat: "We are acting as a reluctant shareholder because this is the only way to help GM succeed. ... Our goal is to get GM back on its feet, take a hands off approach and get out quickly." -- Barack Obama

Government Motors: "GM's management team ... has worked tirelessly to produce a plan that meets the strict standards I laid out at the beginning to streamline GM's brands, clean up GM's balance sheet and make it possible for GM to compete and succeed. ... What we are not doing -- what I have no interest in doing, is running GM." -- Barack Obama, CEO of GM **If you aren't running GM, then why are you making this announcement?

Hope 'n' Change: "Difficult days lie ahead. More jobs will be lost. More plants will close. More dealerships will shut their doors and so will many parts suppliers. But I want you to know that what you're doing is making a sacrifice for the next generation." -- Barack Obama

Because elections are next year: "If we don't get it done this year we're not going to get it done." -- Barack Obama on health care

Gag reflex: "This man is extremely smart -- he can communicate. But the best part of Barack Obama is his heart is bigger than any heart in the world." -- Sen. Harry Reid (D-Love Boat)

DEZINFORMATSIA

Missing the details: "The abortion debate turns deadly. A doctor known for performing late-term abortions gunned down at church." -- ABC's Diane Sawyer **What do you mean "turns deadly"? As if abortion hasn't been deadly for 50 million babies since Roe v. Wade...

VILLAGE IDIOTS

Non Compos Mentis: "The president has the right to select who he wants [for the Supreme Court]. [He] doesn't have to get it cleared from Congress, Senate or anybody... No president before this has come under this kind of scrutiny ... before the committee hearings even begin." -- Air America radio host Montel Williams **Judicial nominees ARE subject to Senate confirmation.

SHORT CUTS

"President Obama said Monday the U.S. won't be involved in GM operations. He swore he doesn't want to run a car company. The next day the dashboard warning light in my Buick came on telling me to check the engine and turn off Rush Limbaugh or else." -- humorist Argus Hamilton

"Ever since last November, many Americans have been ready for free health care, free day care, free college, free mortgages -- and, once you get a taste for that, it's hardly surprising you're not ready for gainful employment." -- Mark Steyn

Jay Leno:

[Did] you see that video online of the wind knocking down Joe Biden's teleprompter at the Air Force graduation? See, that's when you know you're talking to too much -- when even Mother Nature goes, "Shut up. Okay? Just shut up."

At a fundraiser in Beverly Hills, people paid $30,000 to attend a dinner and a discussion with President Barack Obama. The subject of the discussion? The struggling economy.

[There was] one awkward moment -- as Obama was entering the Beverly Hilton, he bumped into John Edwards, who was sneaking out.

President Obama was here in Los Angeles [last] week to bring his message of change to Hollywood. And, really, is there any place in America that loves change more than Hollywood? The place that brought you four "Terminator" sequels, 10 "Police Academy" movies and 29 "Star Trek" films. This town runs on new and innovative ideas.

Help Defeat The So-Called Hate Crime

By Charles Sproull

HELP!!! Please protect us from current "Hate Crimes" legislation and from all the hate crimes committed by liberals and homosexual activists against conservative broadcasters.

All American citizens need protection from hatred, bigotry and violence. Homosexuals need protection from a very small minority of hateful religious bigots. But the vast majority of normal and religious people are good-natured, loving and concerned about the negative effects the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is having on American culture. And many of us understand that homosexuality is an emotional condition of abnormal "lust of the flesh, lust of the eye and pride" (1 John 2:15-17) and that their hearts can be healed by God's loving influence through the complete new birth into God's Kingdom (John 3:5).

And we conservatives especially need protection from the extremely abusive hatred and bigotry, and restrictions of our freedom of expression that liberals and homosexual activists are trying to impose on us.

As written in the Bible (the only book that describes emotional and spiritual thing happening in our world today - with scientific accuracy) Romans 2:1-3 indicates that those who accuse us of hatred are more guilty than we are. So we need to oppose the "Hate Crimes" legislation, and we need to turn this thing around by writing legislation that will restrict HRC activists' hatred for normal people who love the concept of normal marriage and who can see the fallacy of extending the definition of marriage to include gay and lesbian (immoral) relationships.

Have a wonderful, free American day, be militant in a good-natured way.

Suspect in GI Killing: 'Eye for an Eye'

Associated Press

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A Muslim convert charged with fatally shooting an American Soldier at a military recruiting center said Tuesday that he doesn't consider the killing a murder because U.S. military action in the Middle East made the killing justified.

"I do feel I'm not guilty," Abdulhakim Muhammad told The Associated Press in a collect call from the Pulaski County jail. "I don't think it was murder, because murder is when a person kills another person without justified reason."

Pvt. William Andrew Long, 23, of Conway had just completed basic training and was volunteering at the west Little Rock recruiting office before starting an assignment in South Korea. He was shot dead June 1 while smoking a cigarette outside the building, and a fellow Soldier, Pvt. Quinton I. Ezeagwula, 18, of Jacksonville was wounded.

Ezeagwula (eh-ZAG-u-la) spoke briefly at a news conference at a Jacksonville recruiting center Tuesday, saying he had wounds in his back, head and buttocks from the shooting.

The private, who also had just completed basic training, said he hopes to become a heavy equipment operator in the Army and later serve as a drill instructor. An Army captain repeatedly stopped Ezeagwula from answering questions about what happened during the shooting or his thoughts about the suspect.

Muhammad told the AP he admitted to his actions to police and said he was retaliating against the U.S. military.

"Yes, I did tell the police upon my arrest that this was an act of retaliation, and not a reaction on the Soldiers personally," Muhammad said. He called it "a act, for the sake of God, for the sake of Allah, the Lord of all the world, and also a retaliation on U.S. military."

In the interview, Muhammad also disputed his lawyer's claim that he had been "radicalized" in a Yemeni prison and said fellow prisoners that some call terrorists were actually "very good Muslim brothers."

He also said he didn't specifically plan the shootings that morning.

"It's been on my mind for awhile. It wasn't nothing planned really. It was just the heat of the moment, you know," said Muhammad, who was arrested on a highway shortly after the attack.

Prosecutor Larry Jegley, who on Monday won a gag order in the case, declined to comment specifically on Muhammad's remarks.

"I asked for the gag order to protect Mr. Muhammad's right for a fair trial," Jegley said. "I've never had a situation like this with a gag order and I'm sure Mr. Muhammad's attorney will take care of it."

The Associated Press sent an interview request to Muhammad last week, before a judge ordered parties in the case to remain quiet. After Tuesday's interview, Muhammad's lawyer Jim Hensley sent an e-mail to the AP asking it to withhold his client's remarks.

Muhammad, 23, said he wanted revenge for claims that American military personnel had desecrated copies of the Quran and killed or raped Muslims. "For this reason, no Muslim, male or female, sane or insane, little, big, small, old can accept or tolerate," he said.

He said the U.S. military would never treat Christians and their Scriptures in the same manner.

"U.S. Soldiers are killing innocent Muslim men and women. We believe that we have to strike back. We believe in eye for an eye. We don't believe in turning the other cheek," he said.

Asked whether he considered the shootings at the recruiting center an act of war, Muhammad said "I didn't know the Soldiers personally, but yes, it was an attack of retaliation. And I feel that other attacks, not by me or people I know, but definitely Muslims in this country and others elsewhere, are going to attack for doing those things they did," especially desecrating the Quran.

Muhammad was arrested on a capital murder charge in state court and could face the death penalty. FBI spokesman Steve Frazier said Tuesday a federal investigation continues and any information that's gathered is being shared with local law enforcement. He declined to comment further.

An FBI-Homeland Security intelligence assessment document obtained by The Associated Press last week suggested the gunman may have considered targeting other locations, including Jewish and Christian sites in several eastern U.S. cities.

Muhammad had moved to Arkansas in the spring to work at his father's bus tour company and had never attended the Islamic Center of Little Rock, a mosque frequented by most of the area's Muslims, said Iftikhar Pathan, the center's president.

Pathan said he spoke with most of the nearly 300 people who attend Friday prayers at the mosque and no one knew him. Those at the mosque also spoke with FBI agents in the days immediately after the shooting, he said.

"What he had in his mind, God knows," Pathan said.

Last week, Hensley said his client, born Carlos Bledsoe, had been tortured and "radicalized" in a Yemeni prison after entering the country to teach English. He was held there for immigration violations, and Yemeni officials have denied mistreatment.

"Those claims ... are all lies," Muhammad said Tuesday. "That never happened in Yemen. The officials dealt with me in a gentle way."

Obama's "Change"

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel "Pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the promised land".

Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said, "Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the promised land."

Now Obama is going to steal your shovel, kick your asses, raise the price of camels, and mortgage the promised land.

Obama's Islam: Now he tells us

By Pamela Geller
© 2009

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=100660

If anyone thinks that Barack Obama is a Muslim now, there is no one to blame but Barack Obama. In his speech in Cairo, Obama said that he had "known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed." Obama didn't say that he had come to the region where "Muslims believe that Islam was first revealed," or where Islam "began," or was "founded." Revealed.

Obama referred to "the sweeping change brought by modernity and globalization [that] led many Muslims to view the West as hostile to the traditions of Islam." Yes, the West is hostile to misogyny, honor killings, racism and Jew-hatred. Obama also preached about religious freedom – speaking in a country where there is none. Yet he did find time to mention "civilization's debt to Islam." The president said that Islam "carried the light of learning through so many centuries, paving the way for Europe's Renaissance and Enlightenment," and praised "innovation in Muslim communities that developed the order of algebra; our magnetic compass and tools of navigation; our mastery of pens and printing; our understanding of how disease spreads and how it can be healed."

This is revisionist nonsense. Robert Spencer wrote: "The idea that Islamic culture was once a beacon of learning and enlightenment is a commonly held myth. In fact, much of this has been exaggerated, often for quite transparent apologetic motives." Nor was that the end of Obama's Islamic apologetics. Andrew Bostom noted Obama's Quranic cherry picking: The president quoted Quran 5:32, attempting to "demonstrate that the Quran disapproved of violence and killing," but left out Quran 5:33, which turns that anti-violence message (taken from the Talmud) into a warning to the Jews that they will be tortured and murdered if they resist Muhammad.

What is the purpose and end result of all this pandering? Foremost is the throwing of Israel under the bus. MK Aryeh Eldad noted that "Obama makes a shocking parallel between the destruction of European Jewry and the suffering that the Arabs of Israel brought upon themselves when they declared war on Israel." Caroline Glick lamented that Obama "shares the Arab world's view that there is something basically illegitimate about the Jewish state."

Is Shariah law coming to a court near you? Get "Stealth Jihad" – Robert Spencer's expose about efforts to quietly establish the Muslim system in Amerca

America did not approve the abandonment of Israel. And America increasingly dislikes this Islam-obsessed president. As of June 5, Rasmussen had Obama's approval rating at zero – as many disapproving as approving – for the first time since he took office. Yet the mainstream media continue to adore him. Newsweek editor Evan Thomas brought adulation over Obama's Cairo speech to a whole new level last Friday, declaring on MSNBC: "I mean in a way Obama's standing above the country, above the world, he's sort of God."

We should have seen all this coming. Obama deceitfully hid his Muslim background and schooling and his agenda. I started writing about Obama's religious Muslim background in January 2007, and throughout 2007 and 2008 I presented evidence of Obama's identification as a Muslim when he was a child, his extremist Muslim family and his Islamic schooling. In December 2007, I wrote, "Barack Obama went to a madrassa in Jakarta. A madrassa in a Muslim country. Whether he was devout or secular, he knows what was taught. He knows what is in the Quran. Even if he is ambiguous, he knows the stakes involved. His father was a Muslim who took three wives (without divorcing). His stepfather and close members of his family are devout Muslims. Not an unimportant influence." And who can forget Obama's bald-faced lies to the Jews? In February 2008, Obama told Jewish leaders: "If anyone is still puzzled about the facts, in fact I have never been a Muslim." Yet he was registered as a Muslim in an Indonesian school.

Nor was that all. Terrorists supported him. There were the phone banks in Gaza supporting his campaign. Tens of thousands of jihad dollars from a Hamas controlled refugee camp in Gaza filled his coffers. Mosques in the U.S. were preaching for Obama. Khalid Al Mansour, a racist Islamist very much in the mold of Louis Farrakhan and Obama's anti-Semitic, anti-American pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, sponsored Obama for Harvard. When Wright was exposed as a member of the hate group the Nation of Islam prior to his leadership of his Black Liberation church, the mainstream media yawned.

Americans rely on our media to vet our candidates. But the media morphed in 2008. Instead of investigative journalism, the American people were victims of activist propagandizing. Obama was never vetted. His lies were never exposed.

And so now we have our first Muslim presidency, just eight years after 9/11. The media can spin their subjugation and adulation a million different ways, but America did not vote for a "Muslim presidency," which is what this is. Everything this president has done so far has helped foster America's submission to Islam.

The Cairo speech was just the beginning. Imagine what the next three and a half years will bring to what Obama has called "one of the largest Muslim countries in the world."

Obama quotes verse 5:32, omits 5:33
Mladen Andrijasevic

President Obama in his speech said " The Holy Koran teaches that whoever kills an innocent, it is as if he has killed all mankind; and whoever saves a person, it is as if he has saved all mankind."

I really find it odd that neither President Obama nor any of his advisors did not realize that the meaning of verse 5:32 is not clear until it is quoted together with verse 5:33 which follows it:

005.032

YUSUFALI: On that account: We ordained for the Children of Israel that if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people. Then although there came to them Our messengers with clear signs, yet, even after that, many of them continued to commit excesses in the land

005.033

YUSUFALI: The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter;

Are we about to ditch Israel at the UN?

Rick Moran

The Obama administration is making noises about withdrawing our unconditional support for Israel at the UN as a means to put pressure on the Israelis to 'freeze' settlement growth.

This move is not unexpected, even if the freezing of settlements - whatever that means - were not an issue. Our UN ambassador Susan Rice has had a stone in her shoe regarding Israel since she walked through the UN doors and would have found some other excuse to stick it to the Jews.

Not only is this move stupid on several levels, but according to this piece by Helene Cooper in the New York Times, the Obama administration is absolutely clueless about Israeli domestic politics as well as the danger such "smart diplomacy" entails:

Mr. Obama is to give a much-anticipated speech to the Muslim world from Egypt on Thursday. "There are things that could get the attention of the Israeli public," a senior administration official said, touching on the widespread belief within the administration that any Israeli prime minister risks political peril if the Israeli electorate views him as endangering the country's relationship with the United States.

But, the official added, "Israel is a critical United States ally, and no one in this administration expects that not to continue." He spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the issue publicly.

White House officials said Mr. Obama would not make the Cairo speech entirely about the Arab-Israeli conflict, but would instead seek to engage Muslims on the panoply of issues facing Islam and the West, including Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran.

But the core issue, administration officials said, is the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. "I want to use the occasion to deliver a broader message about how the United States can change for the better its relationship with the Muslim world," Mr. Obama told reporters last week. "But certainly, the issue of Middle East peace is something that is going to need to be addressed.

On matters of national security - which most Israelis see the settlement issue - the public is supportive. The idea that the US-Israeli relationship is more important to the Israeli people than the security that the settlements give the Jewish state is almost certainly wrong. This is especially true if Netanyahu can paint the administration's demands on a settlement freeze as unreasonable and unachievable - as indeed they are. Obama's "no growth" demand is laughable. Not only has the Obama administration demanded that Israel stop construction but that there should be no allowance for "natural growth" of the settlements.

A frustrated Netanyahu has simply thrown up his hands according to Herb Keinon of the Jerusalem Post, and has decided to defy Washington on the issue:

Israel will not freeze settlement construction for natural growth, despite intense pressure from the Obama administration to do so, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

While Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has indicated that he will remove illegal settlement outposts, he is determined, the Post has learned, to continue building for natural growth in settlements beyond the security barrier.

In Netanyahu's view, it is further understood that there is no reason housing units cannot be built inside the major settlement blocs for people who want to move there, as well as for natural growth.

In light of unequivocal comments made over the last week by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton calling for an end to all settlement construction, including for natural growth, as well as US and Israeli officials' failure to reach an agreement on this issue in London last week, there is a great deal of frustration over the matter in the Prime Minister's Office.

I don't think anything that happens at the UN matters much to the Israelis although it might cause Obama some problems domestically. But with the anti-Israel crowd at State and the White House now fully in charge, we should expect more trouble for the strategic relationship between Israel and America in the future.

Mouse Trap Story

Are most of us too busy to be concerned about anything unless it directly effects me "right now"? - oyh

This is excellent...

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package.

What food might this contain? The mouse wondered - he was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning: There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it."

The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The pig sympathized, but said, I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. "Be assured you are in my prayers."

The mouse turned to the cow and said "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose."

So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap alone.

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house -- like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey.

The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught.

The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital, and she returned home with a fever.

Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient.

But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock.

To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig.

The farmer's wife did not get well; she died.

So many people came for her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them.

The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness.

So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn't concern you, remember -- when one of us is threatened, we are all at risk.

We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another.

WALKING THE DOG

A woman was flying from Seattle to San Francisco . Unexpectedly, the plane was diverted to Sacramento along the way. The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft the plane would re-board in 50 minutes.

Everybody got off the plane except one lady who was blind. The man had noticed her as he walked by and could tell the lady was blind because her seeing-eye dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of her throughout the entire flight

He could also tell she had flown this very flight before because the pilot approached her, and calling her by name, said, 'Kathy, we are in Sacramento for almost an hour. Would you like to get off and stretch your legs?'
The blind lady said, 'No thanks, but maybe Buddy would like to stretch his legs.'

Picture this:

All the people in the gate area came to a complete standstill when they looked up and saw the pilot walk off the plane with a seeing-eye dog! The pilot was even wearing sunglasses. People scattered. They not only tried to change planes, but they were trying to change airlines!

True story... Have a great day and remember...

11 People On A Rope

Eleven people were hanging on a rope under a helicopter, ten men and one woman. The rope was not strong enough to carry them all, so they decided that one had to leave, because otherwise they were all going to fall.

They were unable to decide who would let go, until the woman gave a very touching speech. She said that she would voluntarily let go of the rope, because, as a woman, she was used to giving up everything for her husband and kids and for men in general, and was used to always making sacrifices with little in return.

As soon as she finished her speech, all the men started clapping.

The agent replies, 'Just a minute.'
'Thank you,' the blonde says, and hangs up.
