I'm Tired"
Robert A. Hall
http://www.tcunation.com/profiles/blogs/im-tired
I'll be 63 soon. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce, and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked, hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired.
I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth around" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy or stupid to earn it.
I'm tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to "keep people in their homes. Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I'm willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the leftwing Congresscritters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them-with their own money.
I'm tired of being told how bad America is by leftwing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities America offers. In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States will have the religious freedom and women's rights of Saudi Arabia, the economy of Zimbabwe, the freedom of the press of China, the crime and violence of Mexico, the tolerance for Gay people of Iran, and the freedom of speech of Venezuela. Won't multiculturalism be beautiful?
I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor;" of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers;" of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery;" of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to.
I believe "a man should be judged by the content of his character, not by the color of his skin." I'm tired of being told that "race doesn't matter" in the post-racial world of President Obama, when it's all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities (harming them the most), government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of US Senators from Illinois. I think it's very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln wrote the emancipation proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less in an all-knowing government.
I'm tired of a news media that thinks Bush's fundraising and inaugural expenses were obscene, but that thinks Obama's, at triple the cost, were wonderful. That thinks Bush exercising daily was a waste of presidential time, but Obama exercising is a great example for the public to control weight and stress, that picked over every line of Bush's military records, but never demanded that Kerry release his, that slammed Palin with two years as governor for being too inexperienced for VP, but touted Obama with three years as senator as potentially the best president ever.
Wonder why people are dropping their subscriptions or switching to Fox News? Get a clue. I didn't vote for Bush in 2000, but the media and Kerry drove me to his camp in 2004.
I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America, while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance.
I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs. We also own a three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore's, and if you're greener than Gore, you're green enough.
I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don't think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I damn sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I'm tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana.
I'm tired of illegal aliens being called "undocumented workers," especially the ones who aren't working, but are living on welfare or crime. What's next? Calling drug dealers, "Undocumented Pharmacists"? And, no, I'm not against Hispanics. Most of them are Catholic and it's been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion. I'm willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person who can speak English, doesn't have a criminal record and who is self-supporting without family on welfare, or who serves honorably for three years in our military. Those are the citizens we need.
I'm tired of latte liberals and journalists, who would never wear the uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement-handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military. They and their kids can sit at home, never having to make split-second decisions under life and death circumstances, and bad mouth better people then themselves. Do bad things happen in war? You bet. Do our troops sometimes misbehave? Sure. Does this compare with the atrocities that were the policy of our enemies for the last fifty years-and still are? Not even close. So here's the deal. I'll let myself be subjected to all the humiliation and abuse that was heaped on terrorists at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo, and the critics can let themselves be subject to captivity by the Muslims who tortured and beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, or the Muslims who tortured and murdered Marine Lt. Col. William Higgins in Lebanon, or the Muslims who ran the blood-spattered Al Qaeda torture rooms our troops found in Iraq, or the Muslims who cut off the heads of schoolgirls in Indonesia, because the girls were Christian. Then we'll compare notes. British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear.
I'm tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption. Read the papers-bums are bi-partisan. And I'm tired of people telling me we need bi-partisanship. I live in Illinois, where the "Illinois Combine" of Democrats and Republicans has worked together harmoniously to loot the public for years. And I notice that the tax cheats in Obama's cabinet are bi-partisan as well.
I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.
Speaking of poor, I'm tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The majority of Americans didn't have that in 1970, but we didn't know we were "poor." The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing.
I'm real tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination, or big-whatever for their problems.
Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I'm not going to get to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter.

Obama has only been in office for approximately 70 days. Just 70 days.
But, in just 70 days, President Barack Obama and his liberal majority in Congress have managed to:
Spend over $700 billion of our taxpayer money on a so-called stimulus plan
- a plan that contained $50 million for salt marsh mice in San Francisco and $8 billion, that is BILLION, for a new high speed rail line between Hollywood and Las Vegas
- a stimulus that saddled every single American family with $9,400 in debt
- a plan that will allow liberal groups like ACORN to get millions - even billions - of dollars in taxpayer money
Spend even more in the Fiscal Year 2009 budget by raising spending 8% - $400 billion - while passing close to 9,000 new spending earmarks
Help spend a large amount of the over $565 billion of TARP recovery money... leaving $135 billion to spend, according to Treasury Secretary Geithner on the Sunday news shows, and rumors abound they are likely to ask for more.
Now, Barack Obama is coming back to the American people, through the Congress, this week to ask for more!
WE NEED TO TELL CONGRESS THAT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. WE MUST DEMAND FISCAL RESTRAINT. PLEASE TELL CONGRESS TO VOTE AGAINST THE OBAMA BUDGET THIS WEEK BY SIGNING THE ACU PETITION HERE, NOW.
This week the Congress is expected to take final votes on President Obama's massive new spending budget plan.
As a WALL STREET JOURNAL editorial noted, "Democrats have passed laws that increase spending by $134 billion in the last six months of this fiscal year alone, and $1.2 trillion over the next 10 years. And that's all before (Obama's) 2010 budget proposals."
CNN's reported in March that in addition to all of the spending that has already happened, "Nancy Pelosi (is) Open to Second Stimulus Package."
As Stephen Moore recently noted in the WEEKLY STANDARD, already in the first few days of Obama's administration, "the federal government has authorized more debt spending than Ronald Reagan did in his eight years in office."
It is enough to make your head spin. But we can't give up without a fight. We simply cannot sit back and stay silent when they are looking to spend trillions more.
WE NEED TO TELL CONGRESS THAT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. WE MUST DEMAND FISCAL RESTRAINT. PLEASE TELL CONGRESS TO VOTE AGAINST THE OBAMA BUDGET THIS WEEK BY SIGNING THE ACU PETITION HERE, NOW.
After you sign the petition we are also going to ask you to call your House and Senate members. We are going to give you the numbers to do it, because we need to hit them from all angles.
The President's budget increases spending by $1 trillion over 10 years.
The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office reported that this new budget will create huge deficits including $1.85 trillion just this year alone... $100 billion larger than what Obama projected. CBO estimated next year's deficit will reach $1.38 trillion, about $200 billion more than the White House projected.
Worse, the CBO reported that between 2010 and 2019 the government's deficits will total $9.27 trillion, about $2.3 trillion more than the Obama had forecast and told the American people.
As Bloomberg Financial News reported, "as a share of the economy, CBO said, the deficit would total 13 percent this year, 10 percent next year and remain above 4 percent through 2019. The CBO said government debt will eventually double to 82 percent of the nation's gross domestic product by 2019 from 41 percent last year."
Can you image a national debt that is 82 percent of the our national gross domestic product?
The Wall Street Journal called this "Obama Sticker Shock."
WE NEED TO TELL CONGRESS THAT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. WE MUST DEMAND RESTRAINT. PLEASE TELL CONGRESS TO VOTE AGAINST THE OBAMA BUDGET THIS WEEK BY SIGNING THE ACU PETITION HERE, NOW.
You might have noted that Obama doesn't call all of this money "wasteful spending," he calls it "investing" in our nation's future. But what does Barack Obama want us to "invest" in?
As the WASHINGTON POST reported in their analysis of Obama's proposed budget, it would increase spending at the Department of Environmental Protection (EPA) by a whopping 35% in just that one agency alone. The Post stated it is a "nearly $3 billion boost... the largest in the EPA's nearly 40-year history."
The budget contains spending for ultra liberal positions on climate change and enacts language that says our government will "aim for universality of health coverage" (ie. the government takeover of health care).
The Post also reported on the huge expansion of government and the number of additional federal bureaucrats that will result from the budget saying, "President Obama's budget is so ambitious, with vast new spending ... that experts say he probably will need to hire tens of thousands of new federal government workers to realize his goals."
Huge amounts of increased spending, liberal budget priorities and more federal bureaucrats in Washington, is that what our nation needs at this time?
WE NEED TO TELL CONGRESS THAT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. WE MUST DEMAND RESTRAINT. PLEASE TELL CONGRESS TO VOTE AGAINST THE OBAMA BUDGET THIS WEEK BY SIGNING THE ACU PETITION HERE, NOW.
Possibly even worse than all of the wasteful spending; however, is a complicated scheme of tax increases in the budget.
Remember over $4.00 a gallon gas? Well President Obama wants to increases taxes on energy companies that could result in higher gas prices and higher electricity prices. As many have noted, there are complicated provisions for a cap-and-trade scheme that will amount to a huge tax likely to increase the cost of natural gas and electricity.
Obama's budget proposal also increases taxes on those making charitable deductions.
At a time when charities are strained trying to help those affected by economic crisis, Obama's budget will actually decrease incentives for charitable giving. Churches, local aid agencies and even education institutions would suffer.
Martin Feldstein, president emeritus of the National Bureau of Economic Research, said in an Op Ed that, "President Obama's proposal to limit the tax deductibility of charitable contributions would effectively transfer more than $7 billion a year from the nation's charitable institutions to the federal government." That's right, Obama's budget will take funds out of charities and in essence transfer them to the federal government.
All told, estimates are that there are more than $1 trillion in TAX INCREASES from Obama's budget bill.
Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH), whom Obama tried to woo into his cabinet, said Obama "is proposing the largest tax increase in history, much of it aimed at taxing small business people who have been, over the years, the best job creators in our economy. And further, he is proposing a massive new national sales tax on your electric bill, so that every time you turn on a light switch in your house, you will be hit with a new tax -- and it averages over $3,000 per household."
WE NEED TO TELL CONGRESS THAT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. WE MUST DEMAND RESTRAINT. PLEASE TELL CONGRESS TO VOTE AGAINST THE OBAMA BUDGET THIS WEEK BY SIGNING THE ACU PETITION HERE, NOW.
After you sign the petition we are also going to ask you to call your House and Senate members. As we said, we will provide you their numbers because we want to hit them with petitions, with feet on the ground from ACU in the halls of Congress and with phone calls.
The budget simply spends too much, taxes too much and borrows too much.
We need to shine the light on this budget and fight back.
Huge amounts of wasteful spending, huge tax increases and even more debt on top of the stimulus package, the 2009 budget and the bailouts is not what our nation needs at this time.
Please sign the petition here, now, and help ACU on this critical endeavor.
Sincerely,
Dennis Whitfield

MARY'S LAMB GOT SUSPENDED
Think carefully about what you will be reading. This is a "new one" for me...
Mary! had a little Lamb,
His fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
The Lamb was sure to go.
He followed her to school each day,
T'wasn't even in the rule.
It made the children laugh and play,
To have a Lamb at school.
And then the rules all changed one day,
Illegal it became;
To bring the Lamb of God to school,
Or even speak His Name!
Every day got worse and worse,
And days turned into years.
Instead of hearing children laugh,
We heard gun shots and tears.
What must we do to stop the crime,
That's in our schools today?
Let's let the Lamb come back to school,
And teach our kids to pray!

Written by a housewife in New Brunswick , to her local newspaper.
'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001 and have continually threatened to do so since?
Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from the nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ?
Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?
And I'm supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of the nation they come from and are fighting against in a brutal insurgency.
I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.
I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan ..
I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.
I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques and behind women and children.
I'll care when the mindless zealots who blows themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.
I'll care when the Canadian media stops pretending that their freedom of speech on stories is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families waiting at home to hear about them when something happens.
In the meantime, when I hear a story about a CANADIAN soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this:
I don't care.
When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank:
I don't care.
When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and 'fed special' food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts:
I don't care.
And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran....' Well, Jimmy Crack Corn you guessed it.
I don't care!!
If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior!
If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country!
And may I add:
'Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Soldiers don't have that problem.'
I have another quote that I would like to add, AND.......I hope you forward all this.
One last thought for the day:
Only five defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The US Soldier.
3. The Canadian Soldier.
4. The British Soldier, and
5. The Australian Soldier
One died for your soul, the other 4 for your freedom.
YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET ALL OF THEM.
AMEN!

In the hospital the relatives gathered in the waiting room ...
Their family member lay gravely ill. Finally, the doctor came in looking tired and somber.
"I'm afraid I'm the bearer of bad news," he said as he surveyed their worried faces. "The only hope left for your loved one at this time is a brain transplant. It's an experimental procedure, very risky, but it is the only hope. You will have to pay for the brain yourselves."
The family members sat silent as they absorbed the news. After a great length of time, someone asked, "Well, how much does a brain cost?"
The doctor quickly responded, "$5,000 for a male brain, and $200 for a female brain.
"The moment turned awkward. Men in the room tried not to smile, avoiding eye contact with the women, but some actually smirked. One man, unable to control his curiosity, blurted out the question everyone wanted to ask, "Why is the male brain so much more?"
The doctor smiled at the childish innocence and explained to the entire group, "It's just standard pricing procedure. We have to mark down the price of the female brains, because they've actually been used."
