WISDOM

If you support our national security issues, you may love and appreciate the United States of America, our Constitution with its’ freedoms, and our American flag.

If you support and practice our fiscal issues, you may value worldly possessions.

If you support and value our social issues, you may love Judeo-Christian values.

If you support and practice all these values, that is all good; an insignia of “Wisdom” . - Oscar Y. Harward

"Daily Motivations"

I have found that if you love life…life will love you back. -- Arthur Rubinstein

"Daily Devotions" (KJV and/or NLT)

Comprehending God's Goodness Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You (Ps. 31:19). He is the most majestic, most exalted, most awe-provoking being.

"But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, He will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." (Galatians 5:22-23).

"The Patriot Post"

"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it NOW deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." -- Thomas Paine

"Thomas Jefferson told us 'having a revolution every now and then is a good thing,' and the people -- we the people -- are going to have to fight back hard if we're not going to lose our country." -- Rep. Michele Bachman (R-MN)

The BIG Lie

"For too long we've seen taxes used as a wedge to scare people into supporting policies that actually increase the burden on working people instead of helping them live their dreams. That has to change, and that's the work that we've begun. We've passed tax cuts that will help our economy grow. We've made a clear promise that families that earn less than $250,000 a year will not see their taxes increase by a single dime. We're giving tax relief to the Americans who need it and the workers who have earned it. So, on this April 15th, we're reminded of the enormous responsibility that comes with handling people's tax dollars and we're renewing our commitment to a simpler tax code that rewards work and the pursuit of the American dream." -- The ObamaPrompter

This Week's 'Alpha Jackass' Award

"We cannot rebuild this economy on the same pile of sand. We must build our house upon a rock. We must lay a new foundation for growth and prosperity -- a foundation that will move us from an era of borrow and spend to one where we save and invest." -- Barack Obama

Memo to BO: The foundation of our nation -- the Constitution and free-market capitalism -- is just fine. The fact that the "new foundation" will be built on debt owed by generations not yet born is the problem.

This Week's 'Braying Jackass' Award

"The charitable donations claimed by the Bidens on their tax returns are not the sum of their annual contributions to charity. They donate to their church, and they contribute to their favorite causes with their time, as well as their checkbooks." --a White House statement regarding the Bidens' giving 0.69 percent ($1,885) of their 270,000 in income to charity in 2008. Hey, it was double what they gave in 2007, and far more than the niggardly $369 they averaged over a recent 10-year span. (By comparison, Joe Biden's predecessor, Dick Cheney, recently donated 75 percent of his earnings -- a whopping $6 million -- to charitable causes.)

Meanwhile, the Obamas paid $855,000 in federal taxes and more than $77,000 in Illinois taxes on an income of more than $2.6 million, most of which came from book sales. They gave 6.5 percent to charity. Our question is, why didn't they set a better example of what Joe Biden calls their "patriotic duty"? Surely they could have coughed up more than $855,000 in taxes.

Tobacco and nicotine lovers dedicate the best years of their lifetimes to worshipping and serving their god - a ¼" diameter and 4" long idol. Many spend $300-$500 per year to dwell in its presence of smoke and poisonous vapors. Some have so much love for their god they spend over $25,000 just for the privilege of dying from the painful diseases their god can offer. Friend, that's devoted worship.

The good news is that there is a true and living GOD, the all powerful Spirit who Created heaven and earth and mankind by His Word, and who is able to completely deliver all who trust in the authority of His Word. He desires for us to love and worship Him only, so He can freely bless us with a lifetime of abundant physical and spiritual health, and so we can dwell in His presence of holiness, love and joy forever. Jesus came, not to give us another religion, but to give us "life more abundantly" (John 10:10). Entering into His spiritual body and following Him is the healthiest, least expensive, and highest quality of life we can possibly live on earth, while
preparing to live with Him in heaven.

The New Birth procedure ("of water and of the Spirit") that Jesus taught in John 3:5 and which began in Acts 2:38-42, consists of turning from self-will to God's will, being water "baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission [forgiveness, washing away] of sins," and receiving the "gift of the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance" like believers received it in Acts 2:4, 10:44-46, 19:1-7). This experience adds souls to the church Jesus will save when He returns.

Specter Switches Back to Dems

As for me, I am not surprised. For the last several years, Sen. Specter has made a left turn on all the social issues. How can anyone profess to support 'Civil Rights' in America, then turn around and vote against childrens' right to live? It seems as if Sen. Specter is choosing to write and leave his own lasting legacy.

Unfortunately, his lasting legacy is in the wrong direction for moral ethics in a foundation of American life.

It is the left-wing social voting records of the like of Sen. Arlen Specter who has ignored the RNC Platform and helped to damage or destroy the conservative values as built within the Republican Party Platform. It is imperative that Republicans get behind candidates who will support at least 80% of the fiscal and social issues in our RNC Platform.

Being a true Republican requires more than placing an ‘R’ in front of your name and/or political title. These majority conservative fiscal and social values are what a majority of Americans seek for, but we must stand by it without waffling. - oyh

Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA) who switched to the Republican party in 1965 has returned to his roots with his expected switch to the Democratic party today.

From the ChicagoTribune.com - http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2009/04/specter_switches_gop_far_to_th.html

Republican Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania is switching parties and plans to seek reelection next year as a Democrat, in the meantime likely handing the Democrats a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate.

Specter's switch could hand the Democrats a 60-seat advantage in the Senate, provided that Al Franken of Minnesota prevails in his court-fight for a long-contested Senate election there. However, Specter said today that he will not become an "automatic'' 60th vote to close debates in the Senate.

As Sen. John Cornyn said the move "represents the height of political self-preservation" since Specter was badly trailing challenger Pat Toomey and facing the end of his Senate career.

Read the entire Tribune article as in includes an interview where Specter discusses his first party switch.

Activist Judge Ruled “No” to prayer in Jesus Name - It is critical for all of us to call our US Senators urging each to vote "NO" on this President Obama appointment. Tell everyone on your e-mail list the same.

A judge who ruled that prayers in Jesus Name, at the Indiana House of Representatives was unconstitutional, but prayers to Allah were not, has been nominated by the Obama Administration to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.

The change we were supposed to believe in is worrying more Americans as the days go by. With the democrats in the majority in both the House and Senate, Dems feel empowered or better yet, a sense of duty to bring forth their version of social change.

Upon ending his Euro-trip, our President decreed to his Muslim audience, “America is not a Christian nation,” a radical break from all his presidential predecessors. Are democrats in touch with the American people or are they exchanging our traditional values for their own ideologies? The recent judicial nominee of the administration proves the latter.

According to Traditional Values Organization (TVC), Our President has picked “a rabid judicial activist as his first federal court pick. Judge David Hamilton has been chosen to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.”

Hamilton, a U.S. district judge in Indianapolis for 14 years, is no stranger to the practice of “activist style judging.” According to TVC, Hamilton is “Someone who ignores the Constitution and imposes his own liberal ideas on each case.”

A Real Military Funeral

http://showmeahero.com/letter4.htm

In Tennessee we pull off the road and stop for funerals......nobody moves until the last car has gone by.

What follows is a message from Vicki Pierce about her nephew James' funeral (he was serving our country in Iraq ):

However, the most incredible thing was what happened following the service on the way to the cemetery. We went to our cars and drove to the cemetery escorted by at least 10 police cars with lights flashing and some other emergency vehicles, with police handling traffic. Everyone on the road who was not in the procession, pulled over, got out of their cars, and stood silently and respectfully, some put their hands over their hearts.

When we turned off the highway suddenly there were teenage boys along both sides of the street about every 20 feet or so, all holding large American flags on long flag poles, and again with their hands on their hearts. We thought at first it was the Boy Scouts or 4H club or something, but it continued for two and a half miles. Hundreds of young people, standing silently on the side of the road with flags. At one point we passed an elementary school, and all the children were outside, shoulder to shoulder holding flags, kinder-gartners, handicapped, teachers, staff, everyone. Some held signs of love and support. Then came teenage girls and younger boys, all holding flags. Then adults. Then families. All standing silently on the side of the road. No one spoke, not even the very young children.

The military presence, at least two generals, a fist full of colonels, and representatives from every branch of the service, plus the color guard who attended James, and some who served with him I add my name to say was very impressive and respectful, but the love and pride from this community who had lost one of their own was the most amazing thing I've ever been privileged to witness.

THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST MOVING E-MAILS I'VE SEEN TO DATE .

Chain for our Military...please don't break it.

Please send this on.

There is nothing attached.... Just send this to all the people in your address book.

Skinny Dipping

An elderly man in Louisiana had owned a large farm for several years.

He had a large pond in the back.

It was properly shaped for swimming, so he fixed it up nice with picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple, and peach trees.

One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over.

He grabbed a five-gallon bucket to bring back some fruit.

As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee.

As he came closer, he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond.

He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end.

One of the women shouted to him, 'we're not coming out until you leave!'

The old man frowned, 'I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked.'

Holding the bucket up he said, 'I'm here to feed the alligator.'
