Dear Friend,

Since I last wrote we have even more to be concerned about, because President Obama has spent nearly every minute of his term working to undermine the values and positions we hold most dear. And the media has stood shoulder to shoulder with him as he does it. Already, President Obama is:

Reversing the ban on tax-dollars being used to fund abortions and Stem Cell research.

Twisting arms in Congress to pass the Freedom of Choice Act that would even overturn the Partial Birth Abortion Ban.

Pushing for the "fairness doctrine" to censor conservative free speech in America.

Ordering massive "bailouts" which will further damage the economy and saddle every American with higher taxes to pay for the mountain of debt it causes.

Supporting the defeat of a Senate amendment that would have provided conscience protection for doctors who have a religious opposition to providing abortions.

Barack Obama will not stop until he reaches his goal of transforming America into a morally bankrupt, European-style welfare state unless you and I stand up to him. And the best way to do that is to focus all of our efforts on blocking Obama's agenda in the U.S. Senate in 2009.

Will you help me in this effort?

You and I must also prepare for the 2010 election, so we can take back the U.S. Senate by defending our conservative allies and defeating Obama's liberal cronies - Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer and Barbara Boxer. But in order to have a prayer of a chance of stopping Obama with this strategy, you and I must start today. After the 2008 election, Barack Obama did not disband his massive campaign machine. Quite the contrary.

Obama has been using this machine to push his radical agenda in 2009 and to prepare for 2010, when he hopes to tighten his liberal grasp in Washington.. Just think how disastrous it would be if Obama were to build a bigger majority in the Senate.

Once Americans see the results of Obama's extreme liberalism and shameless incompetence, they'll be outraged and turn to conservatives for an alternative.

I've taken to the TV and radio airwaves - including dozens of appearances on the Fox News Channel and even filling in as host of Bill Bennett's "Morning in America" radio program - to get the message out about Obama's dangerous agenda. And I spoke at the Conservative Political Action Committee meeting in February to discuss how Obama's policies are slowly by surely chopping away at the values Americans hold dear.

But as we speak, the Obama political machine is gearing up for the 2010 election and they desperately want to tighten their grip on Congress and undo years of hard work in the trenches by conservatives.

Bachmann: 'Cap-and-Trade' Huge Tax for Americans

Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann tells Newsmax that the Obama administration’s “cap-and-trade” plan should be called the “China and India Stimulus Plan” because it would result in American jobs being shipped overseas.

Rep. Bachmann also said the plan — which seeks to reduce pollution by setting limits on carbon emissions and requiring businesses to pay to surpass them — would constitute an “energy tax” and be devastating to all Americans.

Newsmax TV’s Ashley Martella noted that Rep. Bachmann has criticized President Obama’s $3.5 trillion budget, and asked what most concerns her about the spending plan.

“The number one thing I’m worried about is the debt load for our generation as well as for the subsequent generation,” said Bachmann, a member of the House Financial Services Committee.

“Within five years, President Obama’s budget will double the national debt,” she said. “Within 10 years it will triple the national debt. These are astounding figures — so astounding that President Obama’s budget director, Peter Orszag, himself has said this is not a sustainable budget.

“And we all know President Obama’s former commerce secretary [nominee], Senator Judd Gregg, also said this budget will bankrupt our country. That’s very concerning.”

Martella noted that by some estimates cap-and-trade will add more than $3,000 a year to every American’s bill for gasoline and energy.

“At a minimum it will add that much, Bachmann responded.

“In Minnesota, for instance, we’re probably looking at a doubling of our monthly energy bill, whether it’s natural gas or electricity. In Minnesota that’s a huge deal, as it is in most states, because in October we don’t have a choice — you have to turn your furnace on and that furnace will stay on usually through the month of April. If people see a doubling in their monthly energy bill, this will be devastating.

“It’s not just that — it’s also reducing the American standard of living,” she said. “I was in a meeting that talked about the potential for job loss in our country. Businessmen are savvy and they’re preemptive and they’re looking at what President Obama wants to do with this new tax on energy. Because that’s what this is, a tax on the right to use and consume energy — as if energy didn’t cost enough already.

“And what we’re very concerned about is that businesses are already looking at plans to locate new business expansion overseas. This will cause tremendous what they call leakage. It’s essentially jobs fleeing the United States for other countries.

“As a matter of fact, you might as well call this the ‘China and India Stimulus Plan’ because China and India have said, we’re not going to have any part of a cap-and-trade system. We’re not going to do it. So that means American jobs will leave and go overseas.”

Martella asked if the cap-and-trade plan can be stopped.

“Sure it can be stopped, if the American people rise up and say not me, no how,” Bachmann declared.

“Senator Harry Reid has said he believes by the end of August we’ll see the cap-and-trade bill go through. That gives the American people a little time…

“We want to make sure they understand what’s at stake for them, because there are very real implications — not just for businessmen, not just for a few Americans, but for 100 percent of Americans.

“All Americans will be impacted by this new tax on energy, and we need to be prepared.”

This is really an outrage. But it's the new world of "immigration (non)enforcement" in the age of Obama.

Remember the 27 illegal aliens that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested in an employer raid in Bellingham, Washington near Seattle? Remember how they were released to freedom and how Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Reno, er . . . Napolitano a/k/a "The Lesbionic Woman" said that she would investigate the ICE agents for doing their jobs? As I reported, Seattle ICE Special Agent in Charge Leigh H. Winchell had to take it upon himself and apologize for her actions and pat his agents on the back over this absurdity.

Well, it gets worse. ICE agents tell me that Citizenship and Immigration Services has issued Employment Authorization Cards to the 27 aliens arrested in Seattle. Agents tell me that,Yup, not only is America under attack from within. It's under attack from its own government. Who cares if Barack Obama allowed the Navy to save a ship captain after much "mulling it over," when he's allowing illegal aliens to stay here, get work permits, and give them the ability to sue our dedicated, patriotic law enforcement authorities for doing their jobs?

Incredible. But, actually, nothing is incredible in the Obama era. Anything goes.

But, wait, there's more. ICE agents also tell me that an ICE investigation into Customs inspections of freight was shut down by ICE headquarters because the ICE agents might find illegal aliens and arrest them. And we can't have that. ICE agents were told to be sure that this info didn't end up leaked to my site.

As the 27 illegal aliens got work authorization in Washington State, a couple of ICE agents in New Orleans, including [DS: name redacted] one of the best at Customs Investigations, put together an operation with Customs and Border Protection to inspect "In-Bond" Warehouses and freight yards. This was for the explicit purpose of searching for Customs violations. These types of searches usually bring forth good seizures and penalties. But ICE HQ shut the operation down because, "the investigating agents might encounter illegal aliens. Since we are getting away from worksite investigations, we don't want to risk that." . . . Moreover, after that happened, Special Agent in Charge Mike Holt warned the New Orleans office agents to keep that information within the office because he did not want it getting leaked and ending up on Debbie Schlussel's blog.

Yup, why enforce immigration law and arrest illegal aliens when the name of your agency is Immigration and Customs Enforcement? I mean, why make sense and have logic govern your actions, not to mention the laws of the United States your agency is tasked with enforcing?

I used to refer to ICE as "LICE," because it was more like Latino Immigration and Customs Enforcement, while Muslims needn't worry. But now I think it should just be called "NICE"--Non-Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The "I" in ICE simply doesn't matter to the "leadership" of this agency and its uber-fuhrer, Napolitano, any more.

By the way, if you're thinking of making the career mistake of your life and joining this law enforcement agency under attack from within, I'd suggest getting a good lawyer and taking out an iron-clad umbrella policy covering professional conduct.

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, an Islamic terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you.

You are carrying a Glock cal. 40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.

What do you do?

Democrat's Answer:

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!

Does the man look poor? Or oppressed?

Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?

Could we run away?

What does my wife think? What about the kids?

Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?

What does the law say about this situation?

Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it?

Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children?

Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?

Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?

If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me?

Should I call 9-1-1 ?

Why is this street so deserted?

We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.

This is all so confusing! I need to discuss with some friends over a latte and try to come to a consensus.

The Farmer and the Old Mule

An old hillbilly farmer had a wife who nagged him unmercifully. From morning til night (and sometimes later), she was always complaining about something. The only time he got any relief was when he was out plowing with his old mule. He tried to plow a lot.

One day, when he was out plowing, his wife brought him lunch in the field. He drove the old mule into the shade, sat down on a stump, and began to eat his lunch. Immediately, his wife began haranguing him again. Complain, nag, nag; it just went on and on.

All of a sudden, the old mule lashed out with both hind feet; caught her smack in the back of the head. Killed her dead on the spot.

At the funeral several days later, the minister noticed something rather odd. When a woman mourner would approach the old farmer, he would listen for a minute, then nod his head in agreement; but when a man mourner approached him, he would listen for a minute, then shake his head in disagreement.

This was so consistent, the minister decided to ask the old farmer about it. So after the funeral, the minister spoke to the old farmer, and asked him why he nodded his head and agreed with the women, but always shook his head and disagreed with all the men.

The old farmer said, "Well, the women would come up and say something about how nice my wife looked, or how pretty her dress was, so I'd nod my head in agreement."

"And what about the men?" the minister asked.

"They wanted to know if the mule was for sale."
